CALIFORNIA CHROME MAY BE GOING AWAY
TAKE ACTION TODAY to PREVENT a BAN on Hex Chrome
MORE JOBS LOST IN CALIFORNIA? ESTIMATED 100,000 JOBS FOR COMBINED INDUSTRY!
California Air Resources Board [CARB] is planning to phase out Decorative Hex Chrome by 2023. California metal finishers will no longer be able to provide this service.
A BAN IS EXTREME OVERKILL
FACT: Decorative and Functional (HARD) Chrome AND Chromic Acid Anodize Metal Finishing is less than 1% of total Chrome VI Emissions for the entire State of California.
A BAN WILL BE STATE-WIDE
If you are a classic automotive enthusiast who restores cars as a hobby or profession, you will have to find a Decorative Chrome Shop outside of the State. ALL PRODUCTS THAT UTILIZE HEX CHROME will be affected including machine parts, fasteners, industrial machinery, aircraft, aerospace, architectural, medical devices, fixtures, marine equipment, electric cars and bicycles! The list is too long for this flyer!
CONTACT CARB TODAY
Contact CARB and let them know how you feel about the proposed BAN. Save your business, save your hobby, SAVE JOBS and families from leaving the State. CARB is open for comments and concerns.
Tell your story… how & why this impacts you in writing so that CARB Staff can share your concerns with the CARB Board!
Subject: Hexavalent Chromium Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) for Chrome Plating and Chromic Acid Anodizing Operations
Contact others and share the news. Our Government is supposed to work for us, and they need to hear from the taxpayers of this State on this critical issue!

“Kamala wont be able to find any trailer hitches?”
To practice on eh?
"Wanna bet?"
For those of you that are angry and upset over American jobs being outsourced overseas...
Here is the reason why, served up on a silver platter (or a chrome plated one) ....
(hint, it has nothing to do with wages, and everything to do with government interference)
Why do they want to ban a famous race horse
And they still have yet to prove even one case where used motor oil caused cancer... But all 50 states have to deal with it.
Danchuk will be heavily hit by that. They are a company that specializes in 55-56-57 cars.

The chrome industry has been affected for years and the quality has been going down hill as well with all the EPA crap and heavy metals.
That is the must succinct, humorous, and chillingly accurate summary of leftist CA I’ve ever seen. Bravo! I’m stealing that.
Chrome bumpers are beautiful until the sun glare hits your eyes at just the right angle. Stop 20 or more feet behind a car or truck with a chrome bumper in front of you at a light.
Really? Democrat/Communist CARB could not care less about the citizens' pursuit of happiness. The proles
exist to pay taxes and continue to vote Blue. Californians look forward to no water, no safe neighborhoods,
no gas powered engines, rolling electric black outs, and masks forever.
Plastic bumpers are pansy-assed. Am I right?
I’m building my last car. High end build.
Rearend, springs, driveshaft, complete front suspension etc is all chrome plated including all the engine components.
You would not believe what I have in chrome plating cost.
They’re OK by me. My polymer chemist acquaintance was working on mold-in-color (plastic injection molding) where he could have the painted bumper come out of the molding machine. He prolly could’ve put the paint industry out of business with regards to car parts. He could even do metallics. I worked side by side with him for many years in automotive. Truly smart guy with patents on his work. His ideas were squashed on many levels.
(that’s a whole interesting story for another time)
Better living through chemistry? It depends.
I suspect bikers aren’t going to be too happy with this either.
As I like to call it "moral preening"
Not going to make low-riders happy! Not mention, Chip Foose and all of us car guys!
I’m currently working on restoring my last car as well. I got all of the chrome done last year. The price has probably tripled in the past 10 years. I decided to get it done before government regulations put the small shops out of business.

Car windows reflect the light even more, and there’s more of ‘em. Oughta be banned?
Bumpers and such are curved surfaces do the reflections from them are thin stripes or bright points. A sphere would reflect the Sun as a brilliant dot, for example.
Windows are nearly or, in some cases, completely flat; the area of reflected light coming off of them is much larger, and every bit as brilliant.
There’s been times walking through a parking lot where I’ve passed behind a pickup with a shell on the bed and the reflection was not only blinding, but throwing serious heat.
CA is just doing a dumb because that’s what governments do when they try to say something about everything.
Far stronger than a kiln-dried 2 x 6.
If it don’t go; chrome it!
