Residents of Venice Beach in Los Angeles say soaring crime rates and the exploding homeless population have made life in the elite beachside community unbearable.
A 'catastrophic' increase in homelessness in Los Angeles has seen hundreds of tents line the beach's famous boardwalk.
Business owners say they are being forced to close their doors and longterm residents are afraid to leave their homes after dark after being subjected to violent attacks and intimidation.

In the 1950s that was a low rent district inhabited by the Beats. Writing poetry and reading it aloud, writing fiction, painting, composing and playing jazz or folk songs.
Now the unemployed types do not do anything but use drugs and wait around for government money.
The whole Santa Monica and Venice area just sucks. Way too overcrowded, traffic nightmare, parking nightmare, and the freaks, losers, criminals and mentally ill abound.

Blue America voting gets Blue America results. Maybe California should try enacting some gun control to get the shootings under control? It sure worked for Baltimore and Chicago.
Google Venice Beach. Then click videos. Then sit back and watch many hours of homeless camps and trash on the streets in Venice.
What is wrong with people in California that they allow such trash in their communities?

I’ve seen that video and I’ve seen the Santa Monica/Venice area in person close up many times. Now, you couldn’t take me there in a complementary fully stocked stretch presidential limo. No joke.
I’m truly shocked uber lib Austin, TX voted last week to ban it’s tent cities.
There’s been an explosion of homeless addicts in Los Angeles, and it seems that much of the problem has been caused by Prop 47, which made drug possession/use just a minor infraction.
This change in law enforcement coupled with an aggressive push by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel has flooded southern California with cheap methamphetamine which thousands of homeless addicts are shooting up and smoking on the streets.
This is what they wanted.

Of course the question is why was Venice Beach a past thriving community but now it’s a homeless shanty town? You see a lot of able bodied younger people among the ‘homeless’. Not to paint with too wide a brush but I bet the majority of their circumstances are due to poor choices and loser mentalities.
From the headline I thought at first it was Venice, Italy. I thought, “where are they coming from, Watts?” And I was wrong and right at the same time.
I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you.
They voted themselves into this situation and it will get worse now that we don’t HAVE a southern border
