You are quite wise. She should have asked for your advice. You would have told her that the pandemic was going to be going on for over a year. She probably thought it might be one or two months, then back to normal. What to do with this kid when it ends in one or two months? It is a little like a rent-controlled apartment. Or a stock option. It has value that can't be strictly converted to dollars.
she has no option, she would lose the spot.
The rich never raise taxes on the rich, even when they try to talk a good game.
I got the first $1200 check. It was a mistake because I make “more” money than the threshold. Didn’t spend it as it’s a felony BUT...
I did frame it to just to show my future kids and grandkids see the signature of the greatest president since Eisenhower.
Jesus these people are SLOW..
For higher income taxpayers, the “stimulus check” is just an additional tax refund. They’re still paying out more income tax than they’re getting back.
And Ronald Reagan was what? Chopped Liver?
I also want my MTV.
......”living in a house they can’t afford and driving vehicles they can’t afford”......
Unfortunately that’s how the majority do live today...and they’ll justify why they ‘deserve’ so.
Whatever. There is more than one day care provider out there.
And if she indeed can afford a high dollar exclusive day care, then she has no business belly aching about a measly $1400.
Even if she did get the $1400, it still wouldn’t be enough to get her out of debt and pay her past due daycare bill.
As I said - this woman is foolish and frivolous.
Yabut...
Most of us who earn between $75-125K—that is, the working middle class—won’t get anything. We’ll all still be required to pay our taxes, which Biden intends to raise.
Those under $50K paid a lot less taxes, and even got money back they didn’t pay through the earned income credit! They won’t have to worry about continuing to pay taxes.
In essence, the working middle class will pay for the bottom class’s COVID relief.
I’ve lived in major cities and rural and inbetween throughout my life......frankly seeing zero advantages to living in the cities.
$75,000 is considered poor and needful?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
The President Inc, our new totalitarian regime, would love nothing better than to destroy the middle class. The middle class is what sets us apart from many other countries in the world. Trump wanted to strengthen the middle class. That pissed off The President Inc.
We're in the same boat. Yeah, we're paying for it, but I'm kinda glad we're not receiving any stimulus; I think we'd see it all disappear come tax time.
That top group should be higher then 20 percent of the total collected.
But think about it. For you 600 dollars is like 2 dollars for the rest of us. 2000 is like a 20 spot for you. So your really not missing much.
The real issue if I can be so blunt, isn’t the pittance they are giving people. It is the amount being shelled out to everyone/thing else.
People are in great need across a number of socioeconomic levels. $600, $1400, $2000 barely covers the amounts they’ve fallen behind on ...if at all.
There is a very serious housing and rent issue creeping up on us. Couple that with many might be surprised by their taxes if they didn’t have federal tax withheld from their unemployment. Plus Trump waived payroll tax on the back half of last year as a postponement.
There’s going to be a lot of misery as we approach April 15th.
She lives in Maryland. If she lives anywhere near the Washington, DC metro area, $60k doesn’t go nearly as far as it does elsewhere in the country.
[That top group should be higher then 20 percent of the total collected.]
