David Schoen and Bruce L. Castor, Jr. will head the legal team for the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, his office announced Sunday, a day after CNN first reported that five known members of his impeachment defense team had left.
One point of friction with his previous team was Trump wanted the attorneys to focus on his election fraud claims rather than the constitutionality of convicting a former president.
Trump has struggled to find lawyers willing to take his case as he refuses to budge from his claims of election fraud which has been a serious sticking point.

I think Trump would rather take the Samson Option, than allow the Dems to get away with their fraud.
P Trump walking into the Senate would be like Moses walking to the throne of Ramses. The world would be struck dumb and be transfixed.
And should any hair of his head be harmed, he would be Obi Wan.
I’m glad that President Trump found new lawyers.
But I said it before and I’ll say it again:
I agree that there was election fraud that cheated Trump out of his rightful second term.
However, the purpose of his defense in this trial is to avoid conviction, and also to avoid being disqualified from running again. The unconstitutionality of the trial is the best defense.
Later, Trump and others can pursue digging out all the incontrovertible evidence that the election was stolen, and then use it in an appropriate manner!!!

Trump is right. They have no case, but hijacking the show trial to get his point across is free publicity by a MSM that refuses to cover the issue.
I think that the rats will fold on the trial but look for censure that the GOPe will agree to. The pubbies better watch what they are doing here because there are 74 million pairs of eyes on them!
But based on Trump’s histories with attorneys; I’d say he is wrong here.
The 'reports' are just hearsay by unnamed sources, which is how the MSM operates. You and I don't know what the reasons are for the change in the legal team, but the MSM's modus operandi it to paint Trump as incompetent, possibly mentally unstable, and in this case he is acting like Commander Queeg being obsessed over strawberries, Trump is obsessed over a stolen election.
Don't buy into the hype.

It can be both because he has 2 defenses: (1) can’t impeach an ex president; and, if that fails, (2) he did not commit a crime. Defense (2) is more useful in the court of public opinion.
I think Trump and his legal team would be wise not to show up. I think the GOP in Senate already gave their hint how they will vote and find a way out of this mess created by the Rat controlled House including only a very few GOP members.
Trump is right. The evidence of fraud has yet to be presented to the nation in an organized, focused, and comprehensive manner. A televised trial in the US Senate will provide the opportunity for Trump to make his case for fraud, and for Democrats and their media enablers to be exposed for stealing the election.
Once the televised trial is confirmed don’t be surprised if the Dems fold their tents and run for cover.

Those two hired the other three, and they leaked and quit.

Thank you! I feel so dumb reading your post. Why didn’t we all figure that out already? You are saying that the District of Criminals is not impeaching Trump so that he cannot run in 2024 which is the usual presumption, or even as a message to other populists with ideas - they are impeaching Trump because they know the election was fraudulent, and they fear it being overturned.
That actually makes more sense, addresses the weird paranoia CONgress has been displaying...
