Couric had a considerable part in creating, or accelerating, the American caste war. Her ambush-interview of Sara Palin left a great deal of bitterness. The general treatment of Sara Palin, even after the election of 2008, was disgusting and unprecedented in US history.

She was a defeated candidate, who could have expected to return to her former life, as had always been the case. But the “system” had to destroy her - for what reason? In the end their malicious acts, against a true representative of the American common people, pretty much defined the sides in the caste war we have now.

And then there was the treatment of the Tea Party. It was like watching a delegation of innocent hobbits approach the gates of Mordor.
