A top member of President-elect Joe Biden’s COVID-19 task force says the country needs “targeted” restrictions to contain the coronavirus, not a nationwide lockdown — as suggested by another doctor on the panel.
“We’re not in a place where we’re saying shut the whole country down. We got to be more targeted,” Dr. Vivek Murthy said Friday morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
“If we don’t do that, what you’re going to find is that people will become even more fatigued. Schools won’t be open to children and the economy will be hit harder, so we’ve got to follow science, but we’ve also got to be more precise.

That is what it sounds like. COVID being used as an excuse to punish citizens.
Similar to "reimagined" policing.

Let’s look at this rationally without any politics for one moment (i know its difficult). What is the strategy here? Lock down certain areas to not overwhelm hospitals. Ok, got it but can’t we just build mobile hospitals like what was done in the Jacob Javits center in NYC. Isn’t the military expert at creating field hospitals?
IOW, we don’t have a plan, never did, and now we are going to just make stuff up to gum Up the works.
Do they like the “targeted” shutdowns, such as espoused by Chicago’s Lori Lightfoot????
Lightfoot has all but canceled Thanksgiving for Chicago. Is that what these people want?

Targeted restrictions means closing churches. It also means closing all businesses in Red states.

Isn’t it up to State and local governments to place restrictions as needed?
It will be a “follow the politics” type of shutdown. Kind of like Stalin targeted Ukraine.
Red States, after all that where the largest increases are coming from at the moment.
Restrictions/lockdown all businesses owned by conservatives.
