NJ is one of the few states Ive NEVER been to, so I have no preconceived notions of my own. But from a lifetime of interaction with Americans of all stripes, Id definitely say that no state is held in lower regard than is New Jersey.
The rest of that list is crap.
Wasn’t there an episode of South Park which made fun of people from New Jersey?
I live on the border of Somerset/Hunterdon counties.
The area is beautiful....kinda country, and the people are polite, respectful and gracious to a fault.
We have the same problem our country faces: corruption and being governed by a few of our counties.
It really is a shame.
Full disclosure: NJ Resident
Personally, I HATE any and all DemocRAT run states. To be really accurate, though.....I just HATE phuquing DemocRATs. No matter where those parasitic, demented cretins are found. Right up (or down) there with mosquitoes, fire ants and wiggers...err....chiggers.
They went on being very enthusiastic about how much the job was paying etc, but after he calmed down I flatly told him NOPE!
As I explained to him how those places are horribly expensive to live and they all have State Income taxes. In the ones for Calif I showed him how just housing costs will be around $3000-$4000 per MONTH and the State Income Taxes are 13%. So relocating to those places will leave me with little or nothing left after deducting those huge new expenses and not worth my while to pursue it.
All Blue States are the worst places to live imho!
Who hates NJ more? People from other states, or residents of NJ?
Even people who live in NJ think that there are crowds everywhere, cars everywhere, everything is built up. They are from 30 miles outside of NYC and think that is what the entire state is like.
Go t north western NJ, southern NJ and parts in between and it is totally different. Was driving with someone from NJ the other day and she had no idea NJ looked like this: corn fields and farm land.
It is called the Garden State for a reason.
I wouldn’t live there again for other reasons. But hating the look of it and there being crowds everywhere is not correct. It it depends on where you live.
- Resident for 18 years in rural north-western NJ before moving one state over some time ago
Probably right. Second likely NY. And all depends on topic. If 2nd amendment... then NY, NJ, HI, CA, MD, etc.
When I knew I was going to retire. Moved to Pennsylvania for one year and then the final move to Florida, by boat. 31 years in New Jersey was enough for me. Now great gun laws, two silencers in my safe. I do miss deer and groundhog hunting in Pennsylvania.
I won’t even visit in New Jersey now.
Joe Piscopo didn't help, either.
Massachusetts: Not #1, but we try harder.
“Best Life”? You have doubled their circulation by posting this article...
Texas #2???!!!!!!
OR, WA, MD, MA, IL?
Lol...I concur.
Awesome pizza though.
Same for NYC and NY.
Why was NY not on this list?
We are friendly, kind and lovable in Jersey. And Ill friggin kill anyone who disagrees !!!!!!
I love Oklahoma!
Its actually a beautiful state once you get away from certain areas. The Revolutionary War history is amazing. In north central NJ you cant go more than a couple miles without being on a battle, skirmish or encampment site. Washington spent almost 1/4 of the Revolutionary War in NJ.
