Collins needs Maine Republican voter support.
Profiles in Courage???Not!
Absolutely they should abstain. Theres a substantial difference between being a conscientious objector in a war and being one who takes up arms with the enemy and opens fire on your side.
“Before election day” is noteworthy.
But should litigants have to wait an extra month for their decisions?
Independence and moderation doesn't win elections. Sorry. Firm convictions and beliefs and strong support for them wins elections. She's going to lose unless she does something to help conservative Republicans support her, abstaining is a possibility as it is in effect a vote of support.
Abortion is a non-issue.
Abortions will always be available in CA and NY.
Always the usual suspects. If they aren’t going to support Republican platforms and a Republican president then they need to change their party affiliation.
Better yet would be a no show for the vote.
The author of this article didn’t explain the difference between abstaining and voting no. I guess abstaining is not the same as voting no? In other words if they abstain, then there are only 98 votes and only 49 are needed for confirmation?
The question needs to be put to them - Why do you think it is OK for you not to do your job that you were elected to do?
why can’t they confirm him/her after the election, and before the new congress takes over?
“For any open-minded voter in Maine’
There are no open minded voters-
Folks have decided already-
It’s gonna come down to the number of phony ballots the Dens can produce and deliver at the right time.
That’s all this is now.
Flat out, in-your-face, Demon-rat fraud, with spineless pube-ies doing nothing.
OR
Trumpsters getting out the vote and FIGHTING for a fair count.
vote to confirm BEFORE election day ... think recess appointment followed by lame duck confirmation vote
1. It is important that we win; important for this particular seat, but more so for the future of the country
2. we need a strong majority on the Court to swat down Democrat shenanigans with counting the vote
3. we need this seat in play on election day to get out the vote
Recess appointment with post-election vote on confirmation helps all three
Folks, again this is fear porn.
Collins is going to vote for Trump’s nominee.
She will lose by double digits if she doesn’t.
Mitch should threaten to remove them from ALL Committee assignments
Both of “the ladies” voted to confirm Barrett to the Court of Appeals just three years ago. It would be disingenuous to vote against her now if she is the nominee. They will have to either vote yes or abstain on Barrett, which is a good reason that she should be the nominee.
The girls' logic defies reality.
Mitch should PULL THEIR BUTTS OFF THAT COMMITTEE! WEAK SISTERS!!
