Former governor of Ohio John Kasich will speak at the Democratic National Convention tonight. With the ongoing — and frequently overwrought — worries that the U.S. Postal Service will collapse upon the waves of ballots in the mail, it is a near-certainty that Kasich will remind us, for what seems like the millionth time, that his father was a mailman.
Way back in 2014, our John J. Miller wrote, “If Kasich had a dollar for every time he mentioned his father’s job, he might be able to retire with the equivalent of a generous postal-service pension.” Almost every candidate mentions their parents and, to the extent they can plausibly claim humble roots, tries to emphasize their long and difficult climb to political success. But Kasich almost turned it into a mantra, mentioning it so often others turned it into a running gag.
do you think Kasich is going to condemn the burning down of 3 Post Offices in Minneapolis, and the robbery and assault of mail-carriers in dem controlled riot-torn cities?

Because he’s never done anything but leech off the public as a parasitic politician for his entire adult life. He cannot refer to his own accomplishments outside of government because he has none. So he refers to his dad expecting it to substitute for his own lack of real-world-person credentials.
Mr. Kasich is just a reminder of the long line of Democrat failures...............

Our side doesn’t respect him because of his betrayal. Their side doesn’t respect him because of his betrayal. Rats don’t betray the cause. He’s a tool.
He defines nothing. He can advocate. He can be a loyal soldier. He can try to move the football. As far as I can see, he does NONE of this for our side. Why be a Yankee fan when all you do is root for the Red Sox to win?

I have mixed emotions concerning the US Postal Service.
On the one hand I believe that private industry could probably do a better and perhaps even less expensive job of delivering the mail.
On the other hand, we have had a governmental run postal service since the beginning of this nation so disbanding it would be difficult to embrace by me as well as many Americans.
Bottom line, it’s a bloated, inefficient, union administered governmental monstrosity that needs to be relegated to history.
