Cheney calls pardoning Snowden 'unconscionable' after Trump says he's considering it

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said on Sunday that pardoning former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden “would be unconscionable” after President Trump said he was considering the idea at a recent press conference.

“Edward Snowden is a traitor. He is responsible for the largest and most damaging release of classified info in US history. He handed over US secrets to Russian and Chinese intelligence putting our troops and our nation at risk,” Cheney, the No. 3 Republican in the House, tweeted on Sunday afternoon, adding; “Pardoning him would be unconscionable.”

A day before Cheney’s comments, Trump said at a press conference at his golf club in New Jersey that he was looking at pardoning the former NSA contractor, who was charged with espionage years back after he released classified documents related to U.S. surveillance programs.

"I’m going to look at it," Trump said at the news conference. "I’m not that aware of the Snowden situation, but I’m going to start looking at it."

"It seems to be a split decision. There are many people think that he should be somehow treated differently and other people think he did very bad things," he continued.

Earlier this week, Trump also told the New York Post that he’s been thinking allowing Snowden, who is currently in Russia, to return to the U.S. without facing time behind bars.

“Snowden is one of the people they talk about. They talk about numerous people, but he is certainly one of the people that they do talk about,” the president told the paper.

“I guess the DOJ is looking to extradite him right now? … It’s certainly something I could look at. Many people are on his side, I will say that. I don’t know him, never met him. But many people are on his side,” he also said.

His recent remarks come a little more than seven years after Trump said he thought Snowden was “a terrible threat” and “traitor” in an interview in 2013, while then-President Obama was in office.

“This guy is really doing damage to this country, and he’s also making us look like dopes. We can’t allow this guy to go out there and give out all our secrets and also embarrass us at every level. We should get him back and get him back now,” he added then.

worth repeating.....

“Edward Snowden’s act of “treason” is chump change compared to what members of the Deep State have done.”

That is understandable Cheney plays for the other team.Cheney and the other Never Trumpers including those from Tennessee who just nominated Romney's blood brother to be their Senatorial nominee. They all wanted Hillary to win and did everything in their power to make it happen.

Dick’s fingerprints are all over the outsourcing and weaponization of information that Snowden exposed.

In related news, the fox would prefer not to be caught in the henhouse.

I am convinced the only secrets held by the federal government is information it does not want to share with the American people. Anything Russia, China, Great Britain, Israel and possibly Iran want to know their spy networks are getting and sharing with the others. This includes details of weapons systems and nuclear weapons.

Democrat politicians leak “top secret” information whenever it suits their political purpose as do members of the bureaucracy (witness Comey, Brennan, Clapper). None are ever punished. We know Bill Clinton allowed Loral to pass along to China guidance systems for US missiles. Witness also Chelsea Manning who gave over 750,000 classified and sensitive documents to Wikileaks. He was pardoned by Obama.

I am convinced 99.9% of the classified documents held by the federal government should be released to the American public today. Given what we learn every day about the deep state, we are harmed more by the secretive nature of our government than we would be harmed if 100% of the information classified by government was in the public domain. Again, Russia, China and our other enemies, as well as our friends already have the information. If Putin and Xi already have it, why not let the American people have it?

I am con

The article title just says Cheney so I assumed it was Dick.

Then again, maybe it was and the message is being relayed.

Liz Cheney’s defense of that pasty faced NSC “lootnent” Col.Vindmann when he was exposing President Trump’s classified conversation with the new President of the Ukraine (the “bullet” that never fired because Trump released the transcript, and even then Shifty Schitf made up the dialog and made it a “quid pro quo” etc, etc.

Liz Cheney called Vindmann “a decorated war hero”... honest to God. The guy got a minor flesh wound from an IED— his compadres suffered much worse injuries... and he got him his Purple Heart (big woop). Saying crap like this when it is clear the guy was working with Biden’s pal Ciaramella (the other Ukraine “expert” who helped Biden and hid cokehead son get the Burisma kickback money), to make a “whistleblower”complaint from a conversation he never heard, and the complete changing of the Intelligence Community Inspector General’s accepting hearsay as evidence for IG action (said IG now gone is PART OF THE COUP team— blatant).

But— knowing all this,Liz Cheney defended this SOB— who has been run out of the military over this issue and prior chain of command ignoring— and one other thing— the dude was offered the post of Minister of Defense by the corrupt Prez Poroshenko ( same one who fired a prosecutor to cover up Hunter Biden, by the demand of Joey Boy Biden— which WAS a BRIBE held up— not gonna get the billion...etc.).

This HAS to mean that Liz is part of the Bushies/Romneybot RINO derp state idiots and thus a never Trumper. It is entirely possible that Snowden brings some very exposing info to the Prosecutor Durham— as a ticket. Making the Rino STaters (like Romney, Cheney, Rubio, Graham, and their ilk) very nervous.

No, the largest reveal of major military secrets to the Russians was... the Walker family. Our entire SOSUS underwater listening system, and many other way huge technical advantages we had were exposed by daddy Walker, and his family and buddy. Senior Walker did it for money— big time swinger that he was. A real a@@hole.

And he and his older brother, who helped him— both died of cancer at Butner Federal Correctional in NC (same place that Bernie Madoff is serving 150 year sentence).

This a@@hole Walker did all this damage- putting the US in serious exposure to Russian attack during the Soviet era. Snowden’s reveals...reveals the Cheneys, and Bushies and corrupt Mueller=crats of the highly profitable derp state.

The Walkers— all US Submariners (veterans and serving) know who and what he was. Most would have gladly shot him in the head. His own son, his older brother, and a guy still alive named Whitworth serving his life term in Colorado, still.

Good rundown.

Liz and her father, Bent RINO Deep Swamp Insiders protecting Bent Leftist Deep Swamp Insiders for mutual benefit.

Remove Trump the only existing threat to Deep Swamp control of American Government.

Just don't let it get out...
