I’m 52 and a fat #### and I will put it in writing in my will to pay off any bets I made that I WILL NOT die from this thing.
I may die from many things in the coming years..this ain’t gonna be it.
I’m taking all bets. Mail me :)
buona sera
mich like the covid tests, bmi gives out a lot of false positives for unhealthy and false negatives for healthy
its an idiotic oversimplified assessment based on one ratio taking nothing else into account but only height and weight
overnight doing nothing, millions of people were overweight and obese because the ‘smart ones” went to bmi
I thought it was going to be ‘Italians’... Same diff.
Bkmk
Obesity is a huge factor in Covid death.
So, “Fat Jerry” Nadler is screwed? Along with the bride of Harambe. That’s a shame......
Get ready for the vaccine that works best on the least susceptible and works least on the most susceptible. Glad we’re going through all this to get to all that. /s
Yes. That would be the group that was born immune to it.
Read between the lines, it seems that they’re not wanting to ‘waste’ any potential vaccine on anyone deemed ‘not able-bodied’ or ‘unfit’. “No way,” that doctor said. That about sums it up for me, anyway.
It not work?? Paging Dr. Fauci. (Paging Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine ...)
So why dont the see if basing dosage based on weight will help?
How long is this nonsense going to continue? This overhyped virus is no more serious than the flu, where vaccines are also hit and miss.
The article said that influenza vaccines are "less effective" when given to the obese.
A coronavirus vaccine is likely to follow the same pattern.
The article then said that the same pattern should likely follow for coronavirus vaccines.
Will it still work in the obese? Our prediction is no.
It would follow then that the coronavirus vaccine would be "less effective" when given to the obese. But the doctor in the article makes the jump from "less effective", to "no" it won't "work".
Ignoring the negative hype in the article from the doctor, one can look at the following NIH study and see that for the obese, influenza vaccine antibodies drop off and become ineffective for about 30% of the non obese and about 50% of the obese after about one year.
So then obesity has some negative effect for some vaccinated influenza patients after one year, but it's not a big difference compared to the non obese.
And I certainly wouldn't describe it as a "no it won't work" for obese patients who would be vaccinated for coronavirus.
I was going full woke and say let me guess, blacks! I was wrong but this still may come up eventually
Less effective equals not effective? I don’t buy it.
lets just redefine obese and then the problem is solved.
If you are obese, turn your life around and lose 20 or 40 pounds. It can be done if you will yourself to do this. It will help your sore knees, you will have more energy, your heart will last longer, you can buy new clothes and will look more attractive. I was fat and lost 40 pounds. I am glad I did this. I’m not done and am working on losing 20 more pounds of flab.
I bet it won’t work on members of the teacher’s unions and other government employees that want a non-stop, paid stay-cation.
Shxt.. was hoping it said “liberals”
