I was born without an eardrum in my right ear....and hearing loss in my left ear. I know EXACTLY what they are talking about.
I do, too.
I’ve gone from a naturally chatty, cheery shopper to a sullen, isolated hermit.
Most people loving their muzzles do not give one damn that you’re struggling to hear the least little thing nor do they notice the suffering it causes you.
It’s all about this 100% FATAL AND DEADLY PLAGUE that they’re SO terrified of.
If you’re so afraid of “dying” that you give up *living*, exactly *what* have you gained?
My step-daughter wears two hearing aids due a 108 degree fever episode when she was a baby. She has done very well, has a good job. Masks give her a huge problem, she didn’t realize how much she combines lip reading with her aids.
That sucks
Now my husband is 83 years old and he is hard of hearing due the Helicopter noise when he was in the Army. He used to be tech inspector. Anyway after he retired from the Service he spend $3000 for a hearing aid. He wore it for a while and than stopped wearing. Years later he made an appointment at the hearing clinic at Blanchfield Army hospital at Fort Campbell, Ky. He spend $500 and only wore it a couple of month if that long.
I don't even want to talk about his dentures.
Now my son has the habit of turning around and away from me and it is hard for me to understand what he is saying so I have to ask him to repeat what he said and gets mad it and tells me I need a hearing aid, when all he has to do is look at me when he talks.
