My step-daughter wears two hearing aids due a 108 degree fever episode when she was a baby. She has done very well, has a good job. Masks give her a huge problem, she didn’t realize how much she combines lip reading with her aids.
I think everyone combines a sort of lip reading when they hear. I recall before my cataract surgery when I was borderline legally blind, I’d hear other people much better with my glasses on, even though my ears were fine. Sounds weird, but it’s true.
