Orange Man Bad? Democrats Worse

For years, #NeverTrump activists were pushing the challenge to Trump supporters on social media: “Is there anything that Trump could do that would cause you to stop supporting him?” It was one of the primary “Orange Man Bad” themes.

The morality test is that Trump supporters are abandoning all principle by worshipping Donald Trump as our Messiah and engaging in a cult. Leftists in both parties have lied about Donald Trump, hurling smears and invective, accusinng Trump of saying things that Trump never said and doing things Trump never did. And yet it just isn’t working.

Why don’t any of their attacks on Trump succeed? It cannot be because the #NeverTrump arguments are dishonest, unfounded, and unpersuasive. It has to be because Trump supporters are mesmerized. Trump has fooled us all into thinking he is wonderful.

Never will #NeverTrumpers reexamine their arguments.

The correct answer is obviously: “No, there is nothing that Donald Trump can do to lose my support, because I am not judging the 2016 or 2020 elections based on Trump’s supposed perfection.” Because any intelligent person’s necessary support Donald Trump has nothing to do with whether Trump is flawless or not, Leftists are wasting their time. Donald Trump being without faults never played any role in our decision.

In 2012, the Republican Party made a fatal mistake. (Well, many, actually.) The main message of the Republican presidential campaign from those trying to drag Mitt Romney across the finish line was “Obama bad.” Not “Mitt Romney better.”

But voters don’t vote that way. The voters, I believe, were ready to concede that in many ways: “Obama bad.” But… were the voters convinced “Mitt Romney was better?” No.

“Is there anything that Trump could do that would cause you to stop supporting him?”

I don't care if you've got a pic of Trump and Putin on the grassy knoll holding smoking 6.5×52mm Carcano Model 91/38 infantry rifles... I'm Voting Trump 2020!

I spent the first 20 years of my adult life defending this nation against Marxist Socialism, I'm not about to vote for one.

The article makes a good point about an election in which one side is voting against a candidate rather than FOR their own candidate. Looking back, I would guesstimate my 2012 vote was 20% for Romney, 80% against Obama.

This election I am 100% FOR Trump and whatever remains after that is AGAINST Biden.

The other point about whether we think we are voting for a flawless candidate ... I was afraid in 2016 I was voting for a NYC liberal RINO. It never occurred to me until his speech at the convention, I might actually be voting for Reagan II.

Very good article. The left hates Trump because they are anti-American. The liberals have been taught to hate Trump and one of the ways they do that is to pretend that Trump is a cult leader like Hitler. That's what their newspapers told them to think.

But Trump is actually just a likable man trying to do his best to promote America and America's interests against the tide of anti-Americanism here and abroad. I respect and admire his courage and dedication. I do not worship him or promote any other cult-like thinking.

The problem,. the crisis in fact, is that “Democrats worse” is true, but “Republicans MUCH WORSE” is also true.

The Senate is going to be a bloodbath. My prediction is D+6, maybe up to D+11.

What the remaining Republicans here do not grasp is that Trump was elected by 60,000 white Democrats in three states, who are still white, still Democrats, and who got exactly nothing that they voted for.

The meme “They’re not after ME, they’re after YOU, and I’m in the way” is still correct.

But the problem is that the things that are important to the GOP mean the destruction of the white working class and the white small businesspeople, which is becoming increasingly obvious.

The GOP, if it were reformable, was handed a golden opportunity in January 2017 to form a new majority and they rejected it. They are still rejecting it. And they’re going down because of it.

A great American once said, after a bitter defeat caused by an incorrect assessment of the battlefield and the forces at play, “Too bad, too bad. Oh! Too bad”.

That’s the obituary for the GOP. They may carry on as a “loyal opposition”, like the fake opposition parties in the “people’s democracies” of the Warsaw Pact.

But as a national actual opposition to what the Democrats want and where they will take us, they are finished. And good riddance.

Governance will bring the Democrats’coalition under extreme stress, which they may not survive. Our job is to form a true opposition force, which could eventually become a political party.

Which side is trying to do away with my unalienable rights? I am not voting for that side.
