Bubba Wallace Booed at NASCAR All-Star Open, Cheered After Crash

Bubba Wallace took some heat before he competed in the NASCAR All-Star Open, which was the race to qualify for the main event at Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday. AP Sports reporter Jenna Fryer covered the event and wrote on Twitter that fans booed Wallace when he was introduced. And when he crashed 17 laps into the race, the crowd began cheering.

"Bubba Wallace was also booed when he was introduced, and many cheered when he crashed," Fryer wrote. "NASCAR still has a lot of work to do to back up its position. The group Justice 4 Diversity held signs along Speedway Blvd. after the race." After the ace, Wallace called out Michael McDowell for causing him to crash and lose out on a chance to win $1 million. "Just disrespect. When you get hooked the right rear into the wall - I don't even need to see a replay," Wallace said. "People say [he's] one of the nicest guys in the garage. Can't wait for the God-fearing text he's going to send me about preaching and praising respect. What a joke he is."

Odds are this won't be the last time Wallace will be booed this season. The reason fans are upset with Wallace likely has to do with the noose investigation. While at the Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR announced a noose was found in Wallace's garage stall, and it led to an investigation by the FBI. When the investigation ended, law enforcement determined the noose had been there since last year and that Wallace wasn't a victim of a hate crime. That led to fans attacking Wallace, claiming he made up the noose incident despite the fact he was not the person who made the claim.

I think BLM and the entire " I can't breath " movement have reached the end of most peoples tolerance . Its not playing so well any more. even if the MSM is pushing it as news.

Like a kid that whines and crys all the time . You eventually get fed up with it, smack the kid , and tell him to knock it off.

I’ve been to a few short track races. There were at least a couple of drivers the crowd booed at each one and those drivers seemed to relish playing the bad guy.

I bet the same thing happened during the games in the Roman Coliseum.

She left out the fact that Bubba bumped the bumper of the guy who he blames for the wreck. Bubba has s a cheat, and NASCR fans see him for what he is.

“NASCAR still has a lot of work to do to back up its position.” to try to keep fans from taking their money elsewhere.

I don’t follow Winston Cup anymore..is this guy a new driver, is he known for creating issues before this “noose” thing?

It's one thing to get booed because you are a badguy/badass.

It's another to get booed because you're a crybaby.

Bubba Wallace wanted to be known. Well this race hustling clown is known now as a B.S. artist falsely claiming some white bad man threatened him by hanging a noose on a pit stalls door.
Rope had been on door for months prior to his ass getting that stall.Hey Bubba, you sir will forever be booed and laughed at, punk.
Try winning a race or two instead of trying to get a sponsor by being a race hustler pal.

“Bubba Wallace was also booed when he was introduced, and many cheered when he crashed”

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving drama queen (except perhaps Juicy Smollett).

Bubba got what any NASCAR driver would get if you "move" the driver in front of you to get around him near the end of a race. If you're gonna bump his rear to get him loose and go around, you better be able to get beyond his reach quickly, or payback is a bitch.

As far as booing, it's not racism, it's because he's such a whiner and drama queen, as well as pretty much accusing all of NASCAR fans of being racist.

He’s a sore loser and refused to drop the “noose” event - now when he gets booed he’ll call it racist.

Noosecar needs more rules to regulate fan behavior and attitudes.

In the first place, the emphasis on “winning” the race needs to be eliminated and instead focus on the fact that all the drivers “are in this together.”

And the privilege of fans being “for” this driver and “against” another driver needs to be banned.

Fans should go to the track to support the industry, not to cheer one driver over the other.

Yup, Bubba is headed for a career as assistant manager of some ghetto discount tire store, if he even makes it that far.

“”In the first place, the emphasis on “winning” the race needs to be eliminated”””””””

Exactly. Winning is racist.

They need trophies for many more categories.
