An op-ed published by the Washington Post explains Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Bidens proposed gun controls would be terrible for working class firearm owners.
The Post op-ed, written by Kim Kelly, notes Biden is pushing numerous gun controls, one of which would require owners of assault weapons to register those firearms with the government, while paying a $200 tax on each.
The tax that would be administered is the outworking of the National Firearms Act (1934). That Act currently governs the sale of machine guns, suppressors, short barrel rifles, and other Class III weapons only.

I could be wrong, but I think the second amendment is a win win issue for Trump. He needs to slam Biden repeatedly on his assaults against gun ownership.
No registration. No 2A poll taxes. No more restrictions.
Replace Ginsburg with a Trump pick and we can roll back most of the gun control that’s been passed since the 90s across the states. Replace one more liberal with a Trump pick after that and we can go after the NFA, GCA, and FOPA. Bring them all down. Shred the registration records. Restore the Second Amendment!
At the exact moment the American people are buying guns in record numbers....Biden comes out against the 2nd amendment.
The special kind of stupid that doesn’t know the difference between a “high” capacity and a standard capacity.
“There is already a 10-11 month backlog for suppressors, adding millions of semi automatic rifles would break the ATF.”
Since no transfer would be approved until ATF gave blessings, that would be a feature, not a bug, of the new system.
Cool. More justification for all the ammo I've bought over the years.
Or, how about lets make this part of the deal. We pay the $200 but we get to convert them to full auto.
“Now, there is a law Trump needs to vacate.”
Maybe he can ask Jarad for some advice. Where has Jarad been lately anyway?
We don’t really know what Jarvanka have been up to lately do we?
Somebody at the Wapo will get fired for letting this run.
It’s always amusing when some clueless politician tells their equally clueless supporters how they’re going to regulate a few pieces of plastic and a metal spring.
Funny, bury them in paperwork. Have those guns transfered so many times they won’t know who owns what.
“Dont be fooled by the Defund the Police nuts. They will replace with SJW public safety officers who will do the enforcement.”
You do realize, I hope, that SJW is a mocking reference toward low IQ weenies who run away at any hint of confrontation. And spare me a reply about how the antifa are beating up old men when antifa outnumbers them 50 to 1.
The NFA should've been repealed back when the GOP controlled the House, Senate, and Presidency as a way to say thanks to the unwavering support the Republican Party has enjoyed from gun rights advocates.
Instead, we got a bumpstock ban.
Then, of course, there’s always that paperwork that you can file on 50 different guns (with fake serial numbers) that exist a 50 different addresses, including the local baseball/football/basketball/hockey stadium, city hall, the mayor’s house, the local DNC headquarters, the local (anti-gun) paper, your (least) favorite anti-gun neighbor, etc. I understand that this was done a lot in Canada, and that the gun owners made the system run out of money. We have 100 million+ gun owners - just saying.
You can thank Paul Ryan, primarily. He was not much better than Nancy Pelosi - and at least we can see her coming and know who she is.
