Seattle's CHOP Just Cost The City A Billion Dollar Company
PJ Media ^ | 06/23/2020 | Bryan Preston

Well, who didn’t see this coming?

Coronavirus pandemic or not, an investment advisory company is leaving the cultural unrest in Seattle and moving its headquarters to Phoenix’s Camelback Corridor.

” … The unrest that has taken place in the city of Seattle … there is really is not a downtown business community today,” Smead Capital Management, President and CEO Cole Smead told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

Mayor Jenny Durkan has allowed and encouraged an unelected mob to take over and militarize several blocks of downtown Seattle. A man has died because of this. A deaf woman was reportedly sexually assaulted because of this. About 30,000 Seattle residents are now subjected to CHOP’s mob rule and they live in fear of criticizing it. Media are controlled. It’s a segregationist enclave, albeit one that is dependent on the benevolence of the surrounding nation it despises.

CHOP cannot feed itself or power its connection to Reddit. But it can and has killed jobs.

Mayor Durkan is killing Seattle.

“We’re hearing rumors of 40-story buildings that will be only 20-percent occupied by October,” Smead said.

Some of that will be companies allowing employees to continue working at home. Some of that will be companies leaving, taking the taxes they and their employees pay wherever they go.

Seattle is about $2.5 billion in debt. Portland is worse, at $4.5 billion.

Thank you for the numbers.

It's not just the current failure level of these Democrat cities, it's also that they have no will or ability to join in the economy. Portland in particular is doomed to shrink since their port ceased operations a few years back because of the size of the current generation of ships.

I feel bad for the Oregon residents who were overrun by the freaks from California years ago and are now left holding financial bag. I knew a pilot who flew for a three generations of a family of loggers and ranchers. He loved them.

Based on what happened in 1968, I estimate these cities will now be set back 40 or 50 years.

I think some of this will be permanent. There are places throughout the country that aren't just faded since their heyday, they're a shell.

If a city loses its purpose, what would occupy that space?
Mining, manufacturing, farming, logging, transportation, or entertainment/tourism?
Even the Grievance Industry is not viable with the number of cities in it.

Here is the interesting thing about Sigma-7. They produce realistic looking bodies made of silicone. Their product is used in target practice and medical dummies and other stuff.

Here is that famous video of George Floyd, supposedly when he was killed. George Floyd is a big guy. He’s 6’6” and he is no less than 230lbs. He’s going to have quite the pair of legs on him.

However, in this video at the 00:19 and 00:20, where are his legs? Watch the video as often as possible.

What the general public doesn’t realize and what the MSM is refusing to report is that 2020 has been a disaster for major American cities, particularly the democrat kind (which is most of them).

With the pandemic, the democrat cities were hit harder, and their shutdowns have lasted longer. Thus, many businesses there that closed are closed for good and not coming back.

Also with the pandemic, people have found an aversion to being stacked on top of each other in small dwellings. Now, urban living is perceived as a public health hazard.

Corporate business adapted by discovering that with technology, many employees can work remotely from home. Thus, they don’t need to pay for ridiculously expensive commercial office space in costly urban areas. Employees living in the suburbs no longer have to commute downtown.

And then there’s the riots, and the democrat mayors’ refusal to restore order. Nobody wants to drive downtown and be set upon by the mob. As seen in the case of this company leaving Seattle, rioting and demonstrations are bad for business.

Defunding the police has only made the problem of civil unrest worse.

In short, the urban areas have taken a massive hit. The productive people in most of them are simply going to leave. And take their tax money with them.

Next move: every major metro area will want some kind of “regional taxing authority” so that they can siphon money out of the affluent suburbs to pay the costs that resulted from their very poor policy decisions.

Good. Any ceo that locates a company in a democrat stronghold is insane. At any moment your company can be subject to what the far left really wants: seizure and distribution of assets. (communism dictates that all property and the means of production will be in the hands of the government).

Oh. My. God. They’re fixing to escape. I was hoping they could contain them. Now the virus (of leftist progressivism) will infect possibly red areas. Not good.

I think this is the least of Seattle’s worries. I think a lot of companies will follow, and a lot of middle-class taxpayers as well. Seattle is going to have an exodus, replaced by unemployed liberal activists, homeless, and illegal aliens.

There she goes.

These same fascist liberals will move out of their destroyed homeland (shithole), and transfer their mental illness ladden voting practices to another area. They should be made to stay put.

Liberals don’t use logic. They aren’t capable of understanding that their voting patterns are the problem. They will continue to vote liberal because it “feels good”, and then constantly complain about problems while constantly blaming the wrong people.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

This is a really good time to cut off their allowances.

The blue state tyrants want to do things their own way? Fine. They want to dismantle their police force? Fair enough. We’ll put that under *health, safety, and welfare” so we’re on solid Constitutional ground.

They can raise their own flag and mint their own coinage for all we care.

Just one teeny-tiny catch: they have to do it all with their *own* money. No more federal bailouts and allowances. Kick them out of the nest.

Libs never have to deal with the consequences of their own behavior. We, the taxpayers always rescue them. The blue staters are counting on federal funds right now. Just say no. Hell to the no.

I know it's PJ Media but this has to be one of the stupidest articles ever posted.

George Floyd was killed on May 25th. CHAZ was established June 8th. The company is moving on July 1st.

PJ Media is trying to make you believe that a significant company decided to relocate, picked a location, negotiated a lease, had their employees also get new residences in a new city, order and establish all the phone/internet infrastructure needed to run an office, and did it all in 3 weeks.

Don't people ever get tired of these clickbait mills playing them for suckers?

Oh I do hope the time is coming to pay the piper.

Maybe they will need to find the old sign that says: “Last person to leave Seattle, turn off the lights.”

Gates and his cohort can have the place all to themselves.

Mass exodus? I'm all for it. One of the biggest problems in Seattle right now is 'too damn many people'. Get rid of half of them, and Seattle will still survive and maybe go back to what it once was: a great place to live.

P.S. Love your screen name, love your tag line.

Boeing, Microsoft should consider the same. They could easily be next on the target list. Washington deserves no more financial support from businesses than does California.
