MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ShotSpotter technology has picked up more than 1,600 gunshots in Minneapolis in the past 30 days.
Nine people were shot within four hours Monday in three separate shootings, witin about a two-mile radius in north Minneapolis.
The numbers show that there have been over 100 people shot in Minneapolis since the death of George Floyd ...
... Early Sunday morning, a young father was killed and 11 others suffered non-life threatening injuries in a mass shooting in the Uptown business district near Hennepin and Lagoon avenues. Dustin Sanchez is a longtime Uptown resident.
It was pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. And I was just kind of sitting there watching it, and I had two shots go past my head, Sanchez said.
Several businesses were also struck by bullets.
I came over here and helped him clean everything up. We were pulling projectiles out of the walls from where they hit. We were cleaning up glass, cleaning up blood, Sanchez said. Its just stupid, its not needed here anymore.
Sanchez, a father or four, says his family chose the area because of walkability and convenience. Lately, he says its been a hotbed of tension and frustration.
There is like zero authority here. Weve called 911 a couple of times and they told us we were on our own because they dont have people to come down and help. There is no help with city officials or police right now. There are literally citizens trying to keep people off our block right now, keep people off our street, Sanchez said. I just want to have a family and live here and enjoy here in our community, watch it continue to grow. ...

Policing Reform don’tcha know.
Arm up citizens, you’re on your own.
Voters are definitely being given a choice this year — “If you like your chaos, you can keep your chaos.”
Priceless!!!
Without a comparison to what was normal prior to the riots the number of gunshots is useless. (I agree there should be no gunshots.). Gauging an increase is the purpose of the articlewithout stating what it WAS.
Dearest majority of minne-somalia voters: Voting for leftist lunatics gets you leftist lunacy. Who knew??? Hahahahaha. Enjoy the suck, you LIB nitwits.
Cross that line and you won’t have so many misses....
Cross that line and you won’t have so many misses....
Shotspotter technology could tell you the area of town where shots occurred. Oddly, they leave this out of the story or just want to avoid the topic.
If you look on Zillow, an enormous number of houses within the city put up for sale over the past month.
All trending toward Baltimore or Detroit.
So, Mr. Sanchez, when was it needed?
Excellent point.
How many this week last year? Or any normal weekend. What is the point of reference?
Time to tear down the statue of Mary Tyler Moore. Her show didn’t have any black people in it.
Since most of these are thug-on-thug, how about we give them free range time?
All this random rampant gun fire was needed a few weeks ago but not now.
Working cops in Democrat controlled urban areas don’t even want to accompany the coroners or the ambulances, much less investigate the crimes. Why would any sane policeman wish to risk his life and well being performing effective policing and peacekeeping. Urban America will lose population, real estate values will decline sharply and business will avoid and leave. The problem is that when these urban refugees move to decent Republican areas, they take their corrosive liberal politics with them.
Are we seeing a pattern here, yet, class?
Police are there to prevent cities from descending into the pre-civilization savagery that lies just below the surface. Recent events in Minneapolis and Seattle showed that the barbaric savagery is much stronger than previously thought.
The thin veneer over barbarism, called civilization, wore away in recent weeks, and the viper’s pit is now visible.
Amen!
"You reap what you sow"
Clever of you to research that using Zillow...
416 properties put on the market In the last 30 days! (Houses, condos, townhouses, manufactured, multifamily.) And that's just in the city limits.
