Without a comparison to what was “normal” prior to the riots the number of gunshots is useless. (I agree there should be no gunshots.). Gauging an increase is the purpose of the article—without stating what it WAS.
Shotspotter technology could tell you the area of town where shots occurred. Oddly, they leave this out of the story or just want to avoid the topic.
