ALBANY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo is actively talking to New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont about mapping out mandatory quarantine “guidelines” for individuals traveling into the tristate area from Florida and other states seeing spikes in COVID-19 cases.
Cuomo said the trio is “seriously considering” implementing a 14-day isolation for Floridians and that could be extended to travelers coming from Texas, Arizona and at least 20 other states.
“The virus is up and more people are getting sick and now our fear in New York is those people are going to travel to New York and they could bring the virus with them,” the third-term Democrat said on MSNBC Monday morning

Cuomo is targeting the "snowbirds," an important percentage of Florida's economy. They winter in FL, but spend the rest of the year in the Northeast.
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a sizable number of them decided to become year-round Floridians in response to this.
How will they know?

Require everyone to show state ID on demand? That's not going anywhere. People don't even need an ID to vote?
Neighbors narcing on neighbors?
Stopping everyone at the state borders? That's as logistically insane as going house-to-house searching for firearms....

Isn’t quomo the one who murdered thousands of known vulnerable elderly in NY nursing homes by ordering that wuhan virus patients be taken back to the nursing homes? What kind of “guideline was that? Yesterday Florida had the same number of covid deaths (17) as New York (14) and a larger population. New York at one point had 942 deaths in one day. I smell politics.
Cuomo has blown off Scalise’s requests for WuFlu docs and a briefing.

AFAIK, FL gov’s 2 wk quarantine for NYSers is still in place. Not real thrilled by that, either.
I did not realize that was in place. I agree with you, I am not thrilled with that as well.
Just checked. It’s still in place. Would’ve loved to go down to visit and spend some money, but we can’t, thanks to that.

Isn’t this, at the very least an ‘equal protection’ issue? Personally, i have no idea why someone would want to go to NY, or NJ, but apparently some people do, for whatever reason.
