‘Defund NASCAR:’ Confederate flag flies above Talladega Superspeedway

TALLADEGA, Ala. — Less than two weeks after NASCAR announced it would ban the Confederate flag from its races and properties, a Confederate flag was seen flying above the Talladega Superspeedway ahead of a race on Sunday.

The flag and an accompanying message, “Defund NASCAR,” were not affiliated with the organization. It’s unclear who sponsored the aerial advertising.

NASCAR has shot itself in the foot big time and now will have to face the consequences. Their fans across the South will not put up with much foolishness and this is only the start. There is a great silent majority out there and we will eventually have had enough of the radical element trying to destroy our country.

I have a jack-ass neighbor who has mental issues. He has cameras everywhere on his property. He’ll call the cops on other people in the neighborhood and claim they did this or that, and when the officers ask about video footage, he always claims the camera system didn’t work that time.

When Toyota got in I got out. When NASCAR waived the rule that a car had to be in production with a V-8 I though the sport went downhill.... I guess it was a really big check.

The more redneck contingent of my family still lives in Alabama and they all follow NASCAR. My dad wears a belt with the confederate battle flag on it. The confederate flag does not necessarily stand for the Old South. It just stands for the south, period. Southerners are proud of not being yankees. Last time I was out there I saw the occasional rebel flag on people's houses.

NASCAR is largely a southern thing. I hope they crash and burn over this (I have never been a fan).

The communists and BLM want to kill NASCAR because it’s (was) made up of mostly good, old-fashion, conservative white folks. NASCAR is just another “cultural statue” that they want torn down.
