Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán says he does not know if he should “laugh or cry” when his national conservative government is attacked by liberals from multicultural countries where “statues are being toppled” and there are “gang wars” in the streets.
“Liberal imperialism reigns in western Europe, and they are trying to force their worldview on countries that think differently. American Democrats and often international courts are also involved in this,” said the Hungarian leader, in reference to a recent ruling by EU judges that Hungarian regulations requiring NGOs funded by George Soros and other overseas donors to be transparent about their funding are unlawful.
“There is this international trend in politics which is aimed at weakening and eliminating national governments and nations, and bundling them into some imperial order,” added the conservative leader, who has faced heavy criticism from the global left for his rejection of mass migration and multiculturalism and promotion of policies to support traditional families and child-rearing.
“This [liberal imperialism] is now pursued not only by states, but also by supranational global organisations, and is operated by business people and money people who finance this scheme and who see themselves as supranational entities,” Orbán warned.

It is so infuriating that Senator Joe McCarthy was absolutely correct about his assertions and the danger international communism posed. The communists themselves ran a campaign against him and crush him.

Who would’ve ever thought that east Europe would be the savior of the west.
The EU leadership and DNC leaders are devoted communist party members. They will undermine liberty, transparency and responsibility at all costs.
They know this is the way to destabilize the west without a war. Toppling the constitution in the US is essential and they have made massive progress on that front.
They are devoted to the cause and just hope they will be around to share in the power at the end. If not, they have served their party well and advanced the agenda for global communism.
The slope is more slippery and the snowball is gaining speed.
I am Hungarian. I am proud of my country, but keep in mid that Hungary never won a war and was always trampled by East and West when the two clashed.
Do not count on Eastern Europe to be the saviors....they may pay the ultimate price once again.

When I enlisted in USN in 1956 it was 40 yrs since start of WWI and the WWI vets were considered ‘fossils’ as the youngest of them were around 60.
My first out of country excursion was in Aug 57-58 during the ASIANFLU pandemic and WE sailed off to ASIA on schedule, living OUR lives without masks, and all this crap they are foisting on us now.
OH, until I recently heard about our 1957/58 journey, I hadn’t remembered the ‘problem’. Guess when one lives through TB, Polio, mumps, measles etal a little FLU is nil.
So, that makes about 65 yrs since I joined and Vietnam ended about 45 yrs ago, so-in essence, so guess I/we have passed fossils and are creeping up on dirt.
BTW, I did NOT hide in the attic/basement as instructed, went on with normal routine/schedule (with some modification) have done no excessive coughing/sneezing/nose running etc,
According to the ‘experts’ I am dead.
OTOH, I was never a hugger or hand shaker so this (so called) social distancing falls right into my ‘trap’.
Never had to stop work as my main ‘jobs’ consist of bulk food, medical & financial deliveries/pickups.

Hungary has severely limited the number of bearded savages who can enter the country. It doesn’t have the problem of mixed ethnicities who are trained to hate each other by a leftist government.

Enlisted in ‘56 — born maybe ‘38? That’s about halfway between my Dad’s birth (’24) and mine (’51). I didn’t have the military experience.
You point about perspective is exactly right — TB, Polio, mumps, measles, whooping cough. I’m doing my family tree research now and find LOTS of kids died before their second birthday. Then some in 18 - 25 killed in wars. After that, most made it to their mid 60s, lots in their 70s and 80s, and a few to 100.
I haven’t changed my routine much. Still been going on hikes since the first lock-down in March so keeping up with exercise and getting lots of Vitamin D in the sun. Have gone to all the stores that were open to buy parts for household repairs and improvements. Working on FINALLY completing my drip irrigation system right now.
