“A full explanation must wait until passions cool, but in the meantime let me offer a personal account based on decades of university teaching where this nonsense initially metastasized from a few quirky campus ideas to a conquering idiocy.“

Now that is a well written sentence.

Institutionalizing children could cause extreme epigenetic challenges. Compare children institutionalized from specific ages and see what genetic switches have changed without constant family interactio 24/7.

Prime reason is that colleges removed their stupid filter in order to keep the input supply full. Any university’s true value is inversely proportional to the product of (# of diversity admin staff + studies profs + # of times “diversity” is listed in recruiting material).

A real college wants talent - no matter the color.
A liberal college wants money - no matter the talent.

I believe it was in WFB's first book — God and Man at Yale — that he described a student publication from the a long-ago era, in which an undergraduate made the observation "perhaps people think we are insipid because we actually are insipid."

To summarize: we’ve handled them with kid gloves for their whole lives and now they’re over-sensitive, entitled little brats.

Answer is simple, true life experience. Except what they are told as simple truths when life us complex.

Because they’d rather die than be seen as judgemental. No real world experience. Survival instinct has been repressed.

Because success in the real world is not a goal of universities.

People keep acting as if kids go to school to succeed in “the real world.” That is not the case. Look at the number of CEOs of start up companies and mid sized companies. They are usually started by people with brains, imagination, and drive. These are not things that can be “taught.” They are learned through experience.

Plus, adults these days put too much emphasis on what they read on-line. When was the last time most of us stepped foot on a campus—or sat through a class?

We were “stupid” when we got our education. Kids today are just as “stupid.” Why would we expect ANYTHING from a 22 year old kid?

I got into an argument on a Facebook booster group for my alma mater last night, the student newspaper there has come out in favor of renaming three buildings that are named for Virginians associated with the Confederacy at some point—Turner Ashby, Stonewall Jackson, and Matthew Maury.

The discussion eventually got shut down by the mods after 500+ messages but what struck me is that while it was actually pretty civil, the side who wanted to preserve the names really got no nastier than slippery-slope arguments and some eyerolling. The pro-change side, on the other hand, called us “turds,” “racists,” “white supremacists,” mocked us, and generally argued with a terrifying level of complete and total smugness. They will not listen to opposing views. Period. They are Right and we are Evil and must be ground under by any means necessary.

Why Are University Students So Stupidity-Friendly?
Because it’s the easy way out so few don’t fear hard work.

The crowd size is irrelevant. The time has come for President Trump to take the shackles off of the American people. We stand hear waiting for him to solve these problems we see all around us.

With see how are police are being treated, how our country is disrespected, how our kids are indoctrinated, how workers are abused by globalists, how immigrants are just more slave labor, how blacks empower their oppressors, and how fear is used to manipulate our country.

We want to see the National Guard federalized, these rioters put on notice they will be dealt with violently if they continue. We want our police to be respected well trained and worthy of respect. We want our country to be acknowledged for its virtues as well as recognizing its vices. We want American companies held accountable for empowering China and supporting rioters by being made liable for damages they commit.

We want propaganda removed from our schools and made safe and agenda free. We want democrats held accountable for how they run inner cities. We want to stop the abuse of illegal aliens with making it a crime with jail time if they pay any person below minimum wage legal or illegal.

We want hope not fear optimism not gloom. Bring in a new bread of reporters into the press room abandon the television reporters and move to internet reporters that are fair. We need a leader who will lay it all out with us to counter this assault on our county. And if after fighting the good fight and still fail then there will be no regrets and we will prepare for the consequences for the future.

This commentary pretty well affirms what most of us know to be the situation in today’s colleges.

It is good to get a report from a professor who was on the front lines since the 1970’s.

I’m not against good articles, but I feel as if we all *know* the problem already, and reading and quoting all these articles is starting to feel like a waste of time.

The question now is, what to do?

Regarding the education crisis, I think we first and foremost have to take back our public schools. All parents who care need to start attending school board meetings and making sure the curriculum that is being taught is acceptable, and that the teachers are not teaching them to hate America. If you find yourselves outnumbered, then withdraw your kids from these schools and do homeschooling, private schooling, parochial schooling... whatever you can.

All of this is nothing new. It’s been going on for over 25 years with many conservatives commenting on it. In fact, many have made very brilliant remarks, given penetrating and astute insights. But nothing, alas, (to use a Roger Kimball word choice) NOTHING has been done. Since the early days people like Roger Kimball, Allan Bloom, Robert Bork, etc. have been sounding the clarion call of alarm. To repeat, nothing has been done. Conservatives must think the leftist/communist infection of the university and from there to the remaining parts of body politic (arts, government, law, entertainment, Hollywood, media, big tech) will eventually subside and reason and order will naturally be restored. WRONG! This is a cowardly view. For over 20 years this problem kept getting worse. What did conservatives as a whole do? Put their heads in the sand.
