For the sake of argument, let’s say there is a political motive. It is absolutely clear that the Democrats’ recent impeachment of Pres. Trump was politically motivated. Anyone who denies that has to be insane.

So did loony toon Mitt announce that the impeachment was politically motivated? No. He actually joined forces with the Democrats on their politically motivated impeachment. Furthermore, as Dershowitz and other experts argued, it was a misuse and perversion of the Constitution’s impeachment clause. Yet loony Mitt had nothing negative to say about it. In fact he wanted it to continue as long as possible. OTOH, the Republicans are merely holding hearings, and Mitt has a problem with it.
