DOJ sues John Bolton in federal court to block publication of upcoming book
Fox News ^ | 6/16/20 | Andrew O'Reilly

The Department of Justice on Tuesday filed a complaint in federal court over former national security adviser John Bolton’s new book about his time in the Trump White House.

The complaint argues that Bolton submitted his book, “The Room Where It Happened,” for publication without first getting permission from the government through the prepublication review process and that the book contains classified information.

The Justice Department wants the court to issue an order to Bolton “to notify his publisher that he was not authorized to disclose 'The Room Where It Happened' because he has not completed prepublication review and because it contains classified information” and for his publisher to delay the release of the book. The book is scheduled to hit shelves next week

Well, John, I'm glad the ACLU supports your effort to defy certainly the intent of the law and betray the president for whom you worked, but it's not persuasive to a lot of us.https://t.co/zix0L1KFav— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) June 16, 2020

Please see the @ACLU statement on my upcoming book release. https://t.co/QNiG40vmQ6— John Bolton (@AmbJohnBolton) June 16, 2020

I’m kinda suspicious here.

Would that classified information be such that might make Trump look bad?

I’m not a fan of the government deciding if a book may or may not be published.

Even if Bolton wrote it.

Don’t work for the WH and hurry to get a book out and there won’t be a problem.

DOJ should file charges against Bolton, a whiny crybaby who didn’t get his way and must now throw a temper tantrum (this from someone who used to respect Bolton’s foreign policy views)...

If it does get published, get it on the downloading sites immediately. Make sure it makes no money.

Judge denies the complaint in three...two...one...

Based on the Pentagon Papers case, very likely.

Trump should just have Bolton arrested and shipped off to GITMO.

If Bolton wants to go on TV and bad mouth Trump, FINE, he can do that..but he is NOT allowed to release classified material, that is a NO NO and he knows that..Bolton is a mega douche bag, he and Trump disagreed on wars, fine, Trump let him go, so instead of being GRATEFUL that Trump brought him into his administration, he turns around and is a prick because he wants the same commie media that trashed him for years, to now adore him

I'm just throwing this out here, but...
Has anyone noticed how poorly career GOV personnel have worked out in Trumps W/H? OTOH, folks in private industry have fared much better?
I've worked both, and am now GOV.
I tell new hires: Have you ever worked with the GOV before?
If the answer is no: Everything here is the exact opposite of what you've known in the private industry. Efficiency, ambition, logic, intelligence, and industry are poison here. Whatever your instinct tells you, do the opposite.
I believe DJT runs the W/H like a business and the majority of the GOV people and he conflict.

Michael Savage met with Trump personally more than once. Was honored to be at the White House.

Savage outright told him “Please don’t fall for hiring Bolton. He will betray you. He will lie about you. His loyalty is to himself and the Deep State. He is dishonest.” Trump knew better and hired him anyway.

I really thought that Savage was exaggerating and too suspicious. I was wrong.

And So was President Trump.

Obama’s people would NEVER EVER write a book trashing him, they would slit their own wrists before doing so, they will go to their graves promoting Obama as the messiah, but with President Trump, you have so many people willing to stab him in the back for a slice of pizza and a pat on the head

During my Army service I had access to classified information...never considered making it public for a split second.

The best way to get a large audience to want to read a book is to ban it. Thanks for working on the issues that matter, Bagpipes.

I’m not a fan of the government deciding if a book may or may not be published.
````
Bolton could conceivably have something, but if he did he would have to back it up - which would mean revealing Methods and Means and possibly other technical details in other words a Top Secret codeword Special Access Project.
Those revelations could get people killed much like Eddy Snowjob’s revelations to his Chinese handlers and later the Russians and Al Qada did.
Also all the Means and Methods used to collect such information are no longer useful and must be abandoned - costing millions of dollars and more millions to make something new.
That’s why all books written by very high level government people have to be vetted before publication.
