I would criticize President Trump more harshly for inviting Savage Weiner to the White House than for hiring John Bolton.

All books of the sort are subject to review. It’s not a “we’d like you to”, it’s mandatory.

In the course of my job there is always the possibility I could walk in when folks are talking about sensitive information.

I tell them point blank, "Folks if this is something I shouldn't hear don't be afraid to tell me to take a hike until you're done." They've done that on a few occasions and they have thanked me for not being offended when asked to leave.

Bolton is another Traitor. He is like the never Trumpers. If they are successful the Presidency is handed to amoral fool with dementia and in 8 to 16 his radical VP takes over and the country is finished. All because the selfish bastards hate trump. Well love Trump or hate it cannot be denied he believes in the principals the country was founded on.

Part of my job was processing security clearances for officers (physicians and nurses).

I would criticize President Trump more harshly for inviting Savage Weiner to the White House than for hiring John Bolton.

Weiner (Savage) represents a lot of core audience members for MAGA that Trump wanted to appeal to. I know it's cynical of me and harsh to say but politicians have to eat corn on the cob in Iowa and put their arms around the shoulder of key voter bloc icons (like Savage) and say "Love ya babe. You're my pal."

Trump can't have ANY leftist media help. He'd have to pay millions to get what the left gets free from their propagandists on TV news.

By the way, as someone whose opinion I respect here, what is it that turns you off against Savage/Weiner? Contempt for his audience, self-adoring monologues, going off topic for two hours about old time Brooklyn? I haven't listened in quite a while.

Based on the Pentagon Papers case, very likely.

The media has 1st Amendment protection, probably including the publisher. But, Bolton does not. He was a Civil Servant who must follow the law and he must comply with his employment agreement.

My just-dreamed-up thinking: Trump hired Bolton during a key turning point in U.S. defense policy.

My guess Trump purposely hired Bolton thinking that with Bolton as an advisor, the Deep State could not criticize Trump like they wanted to, when he got us out of the Middle East fighting.

And it wasn’t that long after Bolton left that Trump made the hit on the Iranian General at Baghdad airport.

I don’t believe Trump was conned by Bolton in the slightest.

Trump has been keeping the Deep State at a safe distance while he builds his case, makes key staffing changes at National Security, and appoints judges.

When Trump is ready to roll, it will be the right time. Trust THE Man.

Trump and Barr may decide that the fireworks can wait till after the election since he’s so far ahead of the Basement Guy it’s pathetic.

Insightful post, FRiend Sentinel.

The one government job I had for just a year was among the worst experiences of my life.

I wrote for newspapers for 25 years but took a detour into public relations for a government agency, almost entirely because the pay and benefits were better.

I can tell you that even after the worst days in the news business I still could take pride in crafting a good story and delivering honest news to our readers — I was the token conservative in all my newsrooms, back in the day when they still allowed such tokens.

But government work is a tangled mass of twisted priorities, protocols, and incentives, with the taxpaying public considered dead last or not at all.

From the limited information I read, John would take notes in meetings and did not turn them over when he was fired. In the private sector, notes paid for by the company you are working for are property of the company. I do not know how it works with government, but these notes should be the governments, well except in case of Hillary’s emails......

The thief or the leaker is not protected, but the publisher is.

which explains why he is almost always seen with a yellow notepad and got the book out so fast, he was writing it while he was in the White House.

The book will be leaked by the end of the week - or at least the anti-Trump portions.

He should have civilly waited a couple years, like the rest of the people who have left the administration should have. Unless it has “Classified Info”, well, Even Frank Sinatra’s Lawyers couldn’t stop Kitty “ I’m The Original Trash” Kelley’s book about him, + he still wielded a bit of Power/Clout at that point too.

you are supposed to get approval before approaching a publisher, and they look it over first before ok’ing it

primarily to make sure nothing classified is in the book

‘When Trump is ready to roll, it will be the right time. Trust THE Man.’

I am a TRUMP fan BUT he has been there 3 1/2 years and is now the closest to losing all that power and we are as close to becoming a SOCIALIST country that will never see freedom or Liberty again! Pray tell when he plans on using that power to do as o say and to end the TWO TIERED JUSTICE SYSTEM and bring just one of the evil bastard that worked for the *sshole Barry Soetoro to a trial for anything?

What a slimy little creature John Bolton turned out to be. I bet if he was still getting a paycheck from Fox he’d be a fan of everything the President does. He’d be angling for the job he trashed.
