Critics say the gesture was an 'insult to our service members.'
Many Americans are outraged after seeing a picture of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) presenting an American flag to the family of George Floyd recently. The picture has been located on Pelosi’s official Twitter feed among a collection of photos involving the Floyd family, and has since been circulating across social media sites.
Pelosi’s Twitter post reads, “Philonise Floyd’s heart-wrenching testimony to @HouseJudiciary left its mark on us all. May this flag, which flew over the Capitol on the day of his brother’s murder, serve as a symbol of our shared commitment to securing justice for George and for all victims of police violence.”

The response to her post from Twitter users came fast and furious: “It was @SpeakerPelosi who presented that flag to George Floyd’s family… This is an INSULT to our American service men and women!!! Let her know how you feel!!!”

Floyd was a drug abuser and was probably committing a crime to feed his habit. My hope is that the cop gets justice. Although the optics are bad in the infamous video, the truth still hasn’t put its pants on. I also hope that if he is exonerated he sues and gets enough money to find a new life somewhere because his old life is gone forever.
This has to be fake news or a hoax. It has to be. My dad and uncles fought in WWII. She is trying to provoke us into an armed rebellion so she can have us killed or claim we are the problem. She and her group keep saying and doing things that are obviously calculated to lead to armed revolt. It’s a trap.

My opinion is that a flag can be presented for lots of reasons, but they are usually to honor someone or some group for service to the country and society in general.
For the Speaker of the House to provide the family of the person had been accused of passing a counterfeit $20 bill, was on drugs and died while being restrained by the police, seems disrespectful to the whole concept about why flags are donated.
I can understand the anger among veteran's families, but that anger should go far further. Flags are symbols and the presentation of one has meaning. The Speaker of the House damaged that meaning.
Ask yourself, is the world a better place?
