Protests around the United States are boiling over after Minneapolis man George Floyd was killed by police. Floyd, accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill, had his neck compressed by an officer’s knee while in handcuffs for roughly nine minutes before later dying. Other recent instances of racism against African Americans in the country have led to massive protests against police brutality and systemic, institutional racism that many feel have gone unchecked for decades.
In 2019 data of all police killings in the country compiled by Mapping Police Violence, black Americans were nearly three times more likely to die from police than white Americans. Other statistics showed that black Americans were nearly one-and-a-half times more likely to be unarmed before their death. ....................... [more at the link]

While Mr Roper reports on the "per capita" comparison of the black population's encounter with police, and indicating that is greatly disproportionate to their population, he leaves out (a) what brings police and civilians into such confrontations - crime, and the fact that the rates of criminal activity is also disproportionate to - greater than - their percent of the population.
Blacks are over represented in encounters with police because blacks are over represented in criminal activity.
Uh it’s true because blacks commit many times more crimes. Just a fact.
But Hey why would anybody think a lot of blacks in cities commit crimes it’s not like they just all ran out and looted stores on TV or something.
Maybe because they commit 53% of the crimes but are a much smaller part of the population?
Torture the data and it will confess to anything!

Black persons who aren’t habitual criminals, who are the majority of black persons, are no more likely to get shot than anyone else.
Interesting stat: so, blacks are 2.5 times more likely to choose trial by combat with the police. What could go wrong?

This is not a statistic created by police racism.
When victimization surveys are done, independent of police, the same proportions of black victims and black victimizers show up.
As for crime rates, some of the most law abiding are people with carry permits.
They are about 3-5 times as law abiding as police are.
If a significant part of an ethic group is involved in crime the statistic is rather elementary!
Only .003% of interactions with a cop result in use of deadly force- that’s against all races- considering that there are over 700,000 full time police, and 300,000,000 police encounters every year- last year there were an estimated 10,000,000 arrests and Only .003% of interactions with a cop result in use of deadly force- and only 2 unarmed black people were killed unjustifiably last year- the fact is that the police are remarkable non racist- non violent
in a study of three states, NC Louisiana, Arizona, 114,000 arrest- physical force was needed or used in less than 1% of those cases (Less than 1114 people)- in 98% of those cases where physicals force was used, only 2% showed any discernible injuries- only 22 people had any discernible injuries out of 114,000 arrests- This is an amazingly ow number considering how fiercely drunks and drug addled people and drug dealers etc fight the police in many cases-
Another stat- blacks, despite being just 13% of the population, commit over 50% of violent murders in the US- the left scream about black folks being shot at a higher rate than whites, but the fact is- they commit most of the violent crimes despite being only a fraction of the population, so of course their numbers will be higher per % of shootings- this is lost on everyone claiming that there is ‘systemic racism’ in the police force- Put it this way- in an area where the majority of people are black, say 80%, there are obviously going to be more black people arrested than whites- but the left scream racism because more black folks are arrested in that area than whites- black men have a homicide commission rate 8 times that of white folks- resulting in more arrests, and more gun confrontations with police than whites by comparison- and police are forced to answer calls to black violence far more than white violence- this isn’t because of racism, this is because of the fact that blacks are 8 times more violent than white folks- and despite being 13% of the population, commit more than 50% of the crimes- Stats are misused by the left to make it appear as though white officers single out black people for arrest because so many are arrested compared to white folks when % of population is considered-

Are they committing violent crime in the process? Are they resisting arrest in the process?
They want even number no matter what the circumstances. The only real solution is to kill more white people.

They are a violent lot. Aside from Kanye, almost no venue would have a rapper show. Even here in L.A.
when your 10 times more likely to commit a crime, that’s bound to happen.
Blacks commit 36% of the violent crime in the US even though they are only 13% of the population.
This means they are far more likely to have a police encounter than are white people, and much more likely to react violently in that encounter than are white people. It is actually amazing that the statistic is as low as it is in comparison, which shows the police are deferring to Blacks and being more careful in such police stops, most likely because the risk of violence is highter.
