So the Hennepin ME has released a revised report with toxicology reports, but doesn't exonerate the officers.

Baden disputes the findings of health conditions

Dr. Allecia Wilson, director of autopsy and forensic sciences at the University of Michigan and one of two examiners on behalf of the family, said, "The evidence is consistent with mechanical asphyxia as the cause of death and homicide as the manner of death."

Dr. Michael Baden, also working for the family, said the second autopsy shows that Floyd "had no underlying medical problem that caused or contributed to his death. ... He was in good health. The compressive pressure of the neck and back are not seen at autopsy because the pressure has been released by the time the body comes to the medical examiner's office.

Baden said the belief that someone is breathing if they can talk "is not true. I am talking and talking and talking and not breathing in front of you." Floyd repeatedly said "I can't breathe" while on the pavement.

Crump said that all the evidence to date points to Floyd having died at the scene and not later that night, when he was at HCMC.

"The medics, based on the EMT report that we have in our possession, performed pulse checks several times finding none and delivered one shock by their monitor, but George's condition did not change," he said. "They delivered him to the hospital, continued ventilation, but that last report was the patient was still pulseless."

That guy comes up with the result he’s paid to find every time. He does earn his fee.

So, what will the federal autopsy conclude? How good can the investigation/results be since the body has already been shredded once. Before the entire thing erupted. Do they take a second set of tissue and fluid to send to the lab?

What I don’t understand is how we have opposing autopsy results.

Asphyxia causes visible indicators on the body. They indicators are either there, or they are not.

We either have a corrupt state ME covering for police misdeeds, or we have a corrupt ME telling a family what it wants to hear.

This is a significant problem.

The article also included this statement

“They also asked that Attorney General Keith Ellison, who has taken over the case, pursue a first-degree murder charge against Chauvin.

Ellison can upgrade the most serious charge to second-degree murder, but a first-degree count would have to come from a grand jury.”

Well of course their autopsy found that. Without it they cannot have good evidence to sue the city for the mega-millions they plan to sue for to make them all millionaires. Won’t bring the guy back, but will put them all in new caddies.

George Floyd was outright murdered...

Plain and simple.

No amount of wishy-washing will change that fact.

BS. Completely exhale, and let me know how long it takes to lose the ability to talk. 30 seconds?

I’m curious as to how they got the results back for the toxicology report so fast. Every time a celeb dies we hear that the tox report won’t be available for 6-8 weeks.

I think the Hennepin ME is trying to tapdance around the cause of death where asphyxia seems rather apparent. He’s doing so, I think, to try to limit the county’s liability but I think it just makes them look ridiculous. Whatever technical means caused his death, the knee to Floyd’s throat for seven minutes is what killed him.

So, he says he does not see any evidence of compressive pressure, but concludes that is what killed Floyd?

Has anyone got a link to the actual report/reports?

This guy died from the interaction and resultant police handling....He may have had underlying conditions.......I am 100% against the rioting masked as protesting, but the guys death has to be taken into consideration, even if he was a criminal. If not, we might as well be China.

Floyd's dying cries of "I can't breathe!" were IMO not due to difficulty breathing, but rather to his own sense of oxygen deprivation to the brain which was the whole point of the cop's use of a carotid compression hold. The OBJECTIVE of a carotid compression hold is to deprive the subject's brain of blood-delivered oxygen and make him pass out.

Floyd's death was the predictable outcome of holding the carotid compression hold for several minutes after he passed out. Blood pressure soars during a carotid compression hold and, if it is held too long, a biological cascading event failure follows in which lots of things go wrong at once and it's a race to see which of those kills the victim first.

IMO 40-50% of normal people would have died from if they had been subjected to a carotid compression hold as long as Floyd was, and almost all of them would have been the most vulnerable to that sort of cascading event failure.

It really doesn't matter what the immediate medical reason was for Floyd's death. What counts in both civil and criminal law was what the very first cororner's report concluded, that the improper duration of the cop's compression hold "contributed to" Floyd's death. That's all the prosecution team in the cop's murder/manslaughter trial need prove to satisfy the "causation" element of murder.

What people should be focusing on here is that Floyd was TAKEN OUT OF THE PATROL CAR and subjected to the carotid compression hold. I.e., he had ALREADY BEEN SUBDUED when he was placed into the patrol car.

So why was Floyd taken out of the patrol car?

An inference can certainly be drawn that he was removed from the patrol car to kill him, and that means a first degree murder charge is possible. Plus the other three oficers present are vulnerable to conspiracy to commit murder charges.

The issue of why Floyd was removed from the patrol car is far more important than the immediate medical cause of death. The immediate medical cause of death from being shot in the heart is heart failure - the heart stopped beating.

It’s hard to know who to believe, but we all have to Remember that the family most likely couldn’t afford to hire Michel Badan , so he has to be doing this for another reason such as a promise of getting a cut from the settlement. It took the State coroner almost a week to study the body, but this guy comes in and finds the cause of death in a day. But still, who knows....
