Faced with overwhelming numbers against them, and not being “allowed” to defend themselves, staying there would have been suicidal. Those cops would have been burned to death inside the building.

But I agree with Hieronymus; it looked less like “fleeing” - there were no screeching tires, no laying rubber to bug out, driving like crazy to get away, etc., - they simply pushed through the fence, got their vehicles out in line, and drove off.

But I also agree with your comment about it being “really bad” as well - it IS really bad when chaos is allowed to run unchecked. The optics are awful.

The people living near that area better be armed to the teeth and have a plan if the looters decide to leave the burned out areas for fresher hunting grounds. Because apparently, those citizens are now on their own for a while.

I saw that - pathetic. The thing is it's not the "black community" that's "protesting" - it's a full-on Antifa operation. While mayor doofus bends over for the race hustlers, hostiles from outside of Minneapolis are pouring in to the city, organizing and taking direct action. I bet half the citizenry are wondering what they're paying their taxes for, the other half wishing they had guns.

Same thing happened in the LA riots. My wife and I saw it on TV (although I can’t find any video of it preserved). A group of rioters advanced towards the police line, and the cops turned and ran.

It makes sense.

A cop will not lose his job, pension, and freedom because he ran. He stands a good chance of losing all three if he opens fire on “unarmed protestors”, which would be the only way to really stop them. Cops are saying “Screw this town, I’m not going to put my life and future on the line for this job”.

This is why I own a gun, and why rioters don’t generally go into white areas to riot. They can be confident that cops won’t shoot them for burning and looting. That can be VERY sure that white people WILL open fire to defend their homes and families.
