"Born in Iran, Twitter’s Executive Chairman Omid Kordestani is one of many people who personify why Silicon Valley tech companies are so opposed to President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration."

I agree but at the same time, both sides should be able to say what they want. We shall see.

*** More details ****

Donald Trump has indicated that he would sign an executive order regarding social media soon.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins tweeted that “Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told reporters President Trump is going to sign some kind of executive order on social media. No further details appear to have been offered, but it comes after he lashed out over fact checks on his tweets.”

OANN’s Jack Posobiec has indicated that the executive order will address censorship on social media.

Read up on the Sherman antitrust act. Read up on the Clayton antitrust act.

There is nothing unconstitutional about what the president is doing.

Looks like he made a move to either get the censorship under control

Legally, the Government can't do that, any more than they can require Free Republic to publish liberal articles

or remove the “we are just a platform” protections

Those protections were enacted by Congress, so they can only be removed by Congress

OR they kick him off and 70 million followers move to wherever he goes

That, he can do (and probably should)

my bet is that he will take existing law and define the difference between publishers and platform so if a social network platform tells its users what it can or can not say it will be treated as a publisher by fedral bureaucracy. if a social network does not control content then it keeps all the protections given by government. a lot can be done with the enforcement of existing law. the problem is that for the last 20 years theses laws have not had overt enforcement.

Trump will sign an executive order on social media companies: White House spokeswoman

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump will sign an executive order shortly regarding social media companies, a White House spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

Spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany made the remark to reporters aboard Air Force One, traveling with Trump to Washington from Florida a day after Twitter Inc attached a warning to some of his tweets prompting readers to fact-check the president’s claims.

I support President Trump in most things but I am a little confused under what authority does he have to issue an Executive Order to a private business?

It will be interesting to see how he does this.

I was just going to post that.

Thanx.

Here we have another thing (internet) where somebody abuses it to their own advantage which results in the feds getting involved.

These scum CAN NOT let a good thing alone.

Should your auto insurance company be able to ban you from getting insurance simply because they do not like your politics? Should your electric company decide that as a conservative you no longer will get their services?

Along the same lines, should any private company deny your basic constitutional right to freedom of speech?

This is why Twitter and Facebook must be regulated.

Rubio is introducing a bill and Mark Meadows too.
Seems that when twitWit decided to fact check Trump with CNN, they no longer can claim neutral and thus have become a news organization and thus the rules change....something like that. ...Trump has them by their privates. ...

He can do them a LOT of damage. First, he turned the lights on. Cockroaches HATE that.
Second, he can sign an executive order forbidding any executive branch agency from having a Facebook account, a Twitter account etc. He can stop all executive branch offices from spending any money on information services with a company that censors based on politics.

He can declare their activities on behalf of China to be a national emergency and raise holy hell. Truman did this to steel mills in the 50s.

The founder of Twatter was at the WH TWICE in the last 3 years and Trump supposedly lectured the clown.
