US Middle East “policy” has been an abject failure and cost the US way too many lives. Except for Israel.
So successful that the area has been embroiled in constant warfare for four decades...yeah, that’s sure what I’d call “success.”

First, we have no dependence on Saudi oil (or for that matter, any oil producer).

Fourth, a lot of the ‘fake’ big-boys of the Middle East have fallen into severe economic times and their power to survive this time is called into question.

The only successful foreign policy achieved by the United States was to keep Russia out of the Middle East. That was ended by Obama.
Having these incompetent dopes weigh in on U.S. foreign policy is like having arsonists in charge of firefighting operations.
Success—like the Hillary Clinton spearheaded murder of Libya’s dictator, who had been a more or less stabilizing factor in the region for the last few decades? Like the interference in Syria’s internal problems? Like all of the other policies that ended up pushing the unending wars and strife of that region all the way into Europe, with disastrous results?
If those are successful policies, then maybe it is time to try failing policies.
