..The authors estimated that the drugs put patients at up to 45% higher risk of dying from Covid-19 compared with underlying health issues.

"Treatment with chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine does not benefit patients with COVID-19," said Mandeep Mehra, lead author of the study and executive director of the Brigham and Women's Hospital Center for Advanced Heart Disease in Boston.
"Instead, our findings suggest it may be associated with an increased risk of serious heart problems and increased risk of death."
...
Despite Mr Trump's enthusiasm for using hydroxychloroquine for Covid-19 treatment, his own government's Food and Drug Administration warns against it.
...
"We now know from our study that the chance that these medications improve outcomes in Covid-19 is quite low."

i heard that harvard is running a new study. for this new study, they need stool samples.
so everyone, please send harvard a sample of stool, so they can perform their new study!
Did the Haaavard tests use the three-drug protocol or simply Hydroxychloroquine by itself. If the article made that clear I must have missed it.
I suspect that this was just another single drug ‘study’ designed with the a political angle factored in.

Exactly!
Advanced Heart Disease Hospital...
100,000 covid patients?? Sounds like they pulled whatever studies would bring their result from all over to come up with 100,000 patients.
No its not a study of treatment. Not even a record review, more a review of reviews of records retroactively, with no controls, no systematic methodology. Much like the discredited VA study which also was not a study and which has been effectively debunked.
LIke Amy Klobuchars husband who was put into ICU with a severe case, then took a sudden turn for the better. Then went home. Only latter was she forced in live interview to admit that he had been given HCQ. She actually wanted to try to hide this from the American people.
The real question is: How much money does Harvard get from the pharmaceutical companies?
Years ago, Harvard released a study showing sugar doesn't cause dental cavities. It was paid for by the sugar industry.
Anything said by Harvard is immediately suspect and most likely incorrect.
Harvard.
That school that a while back decided to give all the students A grades because they worked so hard to get into Harvard, they deserved them.
Don’t Harvord and China have a relationship?
One quarter of a billion last year.
Were they testing and treating cadavers?
Two obvious problems with this study:
They did not administer the zinc sulfate as required in the complete three-drug cocktail
They focused on hospitalized patients (i.e those with late-stage infection).
The current working theory is that zinc is the key component. HCQ acts to open up the cells to receive the zinc, but is not effective by itself.
Wow. Amy Klobuchar's husband took hydroxychloroquine, got better and went home? Why is this the first time I've heard this? Even the few true conservatives on FNC (Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity) haven't mentioned this. If they did, I missed it.
The Harvard brand is trash, being corrupted by amoral atheistic, hateful, arrogant leftists. I don’t believe anything they put out, unless its quantifiable mathematics or physics.
Science finding the results that financers ask for.
If Harvard says it doesn’t work then it must work really, really well. Especially with extra zinc.
