Also, I wonder whether the groups were adjusted or selected in any way for stage of disease, either separately or as a whole. At what stage did they initiate the HCQ? If once the patient was very sick, it won’t work very well.

They compared outcomes from four groups: those treated with hydroxychloroquine alone, with chloroquine alone, and then two groups given the respective drugs in combination with antibiotics.
The treatment regimen is HCQ, antibiotics AND zinc.
They purposely omitted one of the three elements.

1) Take everyone admitted for COVID.
2) Compare their outcomes with those treated with emergency experimental drugs.
(Hint: Usually the worst cases get the experimental drugs.)
This is a study, not a clinical trial. I’m a skeptic re the malaria drug as far as effectiveness against the coronavirus goes. But this study may not be worth the paper it’s printed on.

Let me just take a wild stab and suggest that the test group was already hospitalized and possibly past the window that Hydroxy is effective. Further, it’s questionable that Hydroxychloroquine was administered with zinc sulfate and azithromycin, the protocol cocktail that has had some fantastic benefits.

Do an Honest study by giving HCQ and Zinc in early stages- publish your results- give it to people with heart conditions, in early stages of virus- publish results- Publish whether their heart conditions increased or decreased while on the meds- determine if it was the virus itself that caused more heart problems or the drug

First and all important question -—AT WHAT STAGE OF THE DISEASE WAS HCQ ADMINISTERED? I BET IT IS ALREADY WHEN THE PATIENT IS ALREADY IN ICU ( same as the VA study ).
