Barr says he does not expect criminal investigation of Obama or Biden as result of Durham probe
Fox News ^ | 18 May 2020 | Brooke Singman

Attorney General Bill Barr said Monday he does not expect U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review into the origins of the Russia probe will lead to a “criminal investigation” of either former President Barack Obama or former Vice President Joe Biden -- while noting that their concern of “potential criminality” in the conduct of that probe is “focused on others.”

Barr, during a press conference otherwise focused on the December 2019 shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola, spoke at length about the Durham investigation. He said he has a “general idea” of how the investigation is going and confirmed that “some aspects are being investigated as potential crimes.”

Barr did say, however, that “not every abuse of power, no matter how outrageous, is necessarily a federal crime.”

“As for President Obama and Vice President Biden, whatever their level of involvement based on what I know, I don’t expect Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Barr said. “Our concern of potential criminality is focused on others.”

I have not either. Some low level lackey will be charged with something like leaving a safe open or some such at best.

I guess the Deep State isn’t really so deep anymore. It’s pretty much in-your-face now.

It’s ironic that they have become “The Untouchables”.

While I have no love nor respect for Barr based on his performance till now I think it’s probably a wise political decision not to indict Obama or Biden. Legally it should be done, but to indict Obama would bring out 99% of the black vote for the Democrats. To indict Biden would do the same for the rest of the Rat voters.

In the end the most important immediate goal must be the reelection of Donald Trump.

IMO Obama and Biden have committed treason as well as criminal acts and morally/legally speaking should receive the traditional punishment for treason. But many things that should happen in this world will not. Justice for these two is one of those things.

Biden’s growing dementia may not be punishment from God, but there is no doubt that he will suffer a lot.

I don’t know what karma has in store for the Kenyan, but don’t doubt that it is coming, even if we don’t get the satisfaction of seeing it.

His words are pretty strong. I think many people deserve to go to prison for what they did to Trump (and our nation) for over 2 years.

The AG of the United States pretty much just shut down the whole Russian collusion delusion. Full stop.

The AG of the United States pretty much condemned the actions of his own DOJ, the Mueller probe, and the media narrative we were forced to endure for 2 plus years.

I get the anger and I too feel angry about what happened. However, this was NOT a milquetoast statement by Barr today. He has the goods to back up what he said or he would not have said it.

I don’t know that anyone will go to jail and it would be very inappropriate for him to come out and say they will. I ate the disappointment long ago and have said that a full accounting of what took place was the most important thing so Americans could judge for themselves. He has pretty much promised that today.

His comments today were blunt and unequivocal that the President was the victim of an injustice. He essentially said what many of us have been screaming for a long time.

2 standards of justice
Weaponizing our DOJ and intel agencies for partisan political purposes
This whole thing was bunk.

He is not going to tolerate it and there will be an accounting of some sorts. At this point I will take it. Having the idea that Biden/Obama were somehow going to be dragged before a Grand Jury was a pointless exercise in futility and actually plays into the hands of the left and the media - i.e. - Trump is targeting his political opponents via his DOJ. That is not tolerable.

Barr gave us a lot today and when you step back from the anger we all justifiably feel about what happened, it was a very strong statement that indicates that the Durham investigation is showing and in Barr’s own assessment - we were right.

The rest of it will be up to history......

P.S. - it will still be “Obamagate”

Make an example of a bunch of these underlings, Comey, Tapper, Brennan, etc. etc and it will help prevent other people in the future from doing it again. If they know it will be their ass that goes to jail they won’t do this crap in the first place.

Yes, Barr, is looking neutral, as he must.

FOR NOW.

I expect a Boom of some magnitude will follow and then Barr can feign some modest measure of civilian-like shock at the Durham evidence, for warranting charges and indictments.

Nice play, Mr. Barr..

Putting a former President in prison would send us back to the third world and play right into the Democrat Socialists hands.

Actually, I have a problem with it. They break the law for political spying while in office, with the full force and might of the US government, then they HANG.

The democrats have MY BLESSINGS to do it back to any Republican who does the same misuse of Federal Government.

Federal Government is supposed to belong to the people

Just be honest—there won’t be any real investigations.

“Barr says he does not expect criminal investigation of Obama or Biden as result of Durham probe”

He did not say that. Look, I get it. I am pissed off about what happened and think what these clowns put our country through for 2 years was sedition and treason. However, that is my opinion.

I have carefully listened to every word Barr has said from the beginning about the Russian collusion delusion.

His comments today were the strongest yet. They were direct and blunt and he pretty much said what many of us have said or thought for a long time. I don’t know how the media will spin it - they can’t.

He is right - we CANNOT have a partisan use of our government. Period. What part of that is not true? We cannot have a two-tiered system of justice. Period.

At this point we have to take what we can get. The AG of the US, privy to what is being uncovered in the Durham investigation, just said the media and left LIED to us for 2 years and targeted the President (and us).

Based on the incremental statements of Barr if you have paid attention this was by far his strongest condemnation of what happened.

We are going to learn much more of what happened and that is obvious. Barr is very careful with his words and he should be. His words carry the weight of the DOJ.

At this point, we can sit here on FR and rail endlessly about how/why Obama or Biden belong in prison and we might have a point, but it is an unrealistic (and dangerous) precedent. I think the real damage to both of them will be for the full truth to be revealed and let history judge and scorn them. He did not let the rest of the partisan band off the hook.

I will take it.

P.S. - it will still be remembered by history as #Obamagate.

Scandal free....... #Obamagate

No surprise. While Obama may have ordered and directed the operation, it would impossible to prove.

I do, however, think that everybody else involved, no matter how far up or down the foodchain, needs to swing for this.

Barr didn't mention Hillary Clinton.
