McCarthy Discusses When Flynn Was NOT Unmasked and The Missing Pientka 302…
conservative treehouse ^ | May 16, 2020 | sundance

Former Chief Asst. U.S. Attorney Andrew McCarthy has an article written today pointing to the primary issue about former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn: “The Real Story is When Flynn Was Not Unmasked” – READ HERE.

McCarthy has reviewed the documents; looked at the research; reviewed what the IG said was not happening; and came to the same conclusion as CTH. The Obama surveillance of Flynn did not include ‘unmasking’ because the collection was not incidental.

McCarthy points the media’s incurious compass needle toward the CIA, but don’t expect any DC media to follow it. The truth is adverse to MSM interests.

There’s only one way for the Flynn-Kislyak call and content to be tracked, captured, discussed and shared by the Obama administration without the unmasking between 12/29/16 and 01/04/17. A reverse targeted intercept on Flynn through Kislyak. [CIA/NSA] Read McCarthy Column Here

If the FBI cannot produce that original 302 then roll the 7th floor of 2016 right out the window.

Trump’s tweet to McConnell was right.
This cannot stand.

I used poor language. They have produced one.

My term should have been “provide”.

Dan brought this up, ALCJ pointed out the unmasking they did was to cover it up.

If you haven't already, "Obama Did It" is a MUST READ. One of the most clear and concise timelines pointing to Obama's deep involvement in this highly illegal conspiracy against Flynn (Trump!):

Why Obama and company wanted to provoke Russia:
1) To push the Russians election-interference narrative, by pretending the US needed to “punish” Russia.
2) To poison the well of US-Russian relations, and tie the hands of the incoming administration, by saddling them with a cycle of hostile reactions. It is clear from his statements that Obama expected the Russians to respond. They even claim they looked for the reason they didn’t, and that’s why that looked at Flynn’s call.
3) To goad Flynn or other incoming Trump administration people into trying to mitigate Obama’s damage, so they could “catch” them in the act of … keeping Russia from harming US interests. I wonder how many people understand that Flynn’s calls with Kislyak averted anti-US action that Obama desired?

Sorry, but Bongino's theory on what happened doesn't hold up.

The Patriot Act provision he cites allows the bypassing of FISA and he thinks Obama used it to surveil Flynn.

The problem is that provision can be used only if the Attorney General certifies that all parties surveilled are foreigners. Further, the AG must notify both the House and Senate before making use of this provision.

If it was used on Flynn it means the AG lied and the Republicans on the intelligence committees knew about the surveillance and haven't said anything.

I tend to think you are right. However, I don’t think the Obama administration followed the rules when it came to the surveillance state and I also think they were requesting the UK and our 5-eyes intel partners to do the spying for them.

We will see, but in fairness to Dan he did say it was speculation.

I think we had a surveillance state gone made in the last administration - journalist, opposition politicians, and others were likely spied on in an unprecedented fashion. All of this would be in violation of the law and constitution.

A real possibility, especially since Flynn was outside the US when he and Kislyak talked.

Both of those are completely believable to anyone who has even slightly paid attention for the last 4 years.

Perhaps, but if true there's no reason for Bongino to bring up a Patriot Act provision that wasn't used.

Question for our legal scholars. Lindsey Graham has invited Gen. Flynn to testify to the senate at the beginning of June. But, until his case is resolved, Flynn is still under a GAG order.

Can the Senate give Flynn immunity in order to get his testimony?
