There is really no way to enforce Lard Butt's "stay at home" order even if law enforcement officials WANTED to... there's simply no way they can monitor where all Illinois residents are and whether we're leaving home for "essential purposes" whenever we get in our cars.
I was off work today and actually planned to spend the entire day AWAY from home for the first time since the "lockdown" (was gonna leave at 9am and get back about 8ish) but alas, it didn't work out very well. I had a blackout at home and other issues that prevented me from leaving until 2pm, and I was going to pay a surprise visit to my sister and her kids in Will Co. this evening but then I got a "Severe Flash Flood warning" and decided it wasn't worth it, only to come back home with not a drop of rain in the sky.
The only goal I accomplished today was being able to attend church in person for the first time since March... apparently since our Saturday evening vesper prayers always have less than 10 people in attendance, our pastor says the public is now "allowed" to attend. I went and there indeed only five parishoners in attendance, including me. Add the priest and deacon, and that made 7 total. PLENTY of "social distancing". I risk my health MUCH more just by going to work and having strangers breathing down my neck every day.
Lard Butt certainly isn't leading my example and following his own dictates... sent his kids on vacation to non-lockdown FL, and he and his wife had a private getaway in the newly non-lockdown WI. It's good to be the king.
That's exactly what happened in L.A. last week - and the backpedaling from Garcetti was ferocious.
Didn't buy the boat. She liked it, I didn't. Underpowered, motor too small for it. The agreement is we both have to like it to buy it. She pouted the whole way home, I laughed. What else could I do? It was the first boat we looked at, there's plenty for sale right now.

A good friend of mine has a saying about "if it floats, flies or f***s, don't buy it - rent it. It's cheaper that way." He was certainly right about the last one ... ouch (post divorce.) Looks like I'm going to find out about the one that floats, though methinks the first and last are somehow related with the GF ..

I worked for everything I have (twice now ...) and they can do the same.
my son and daughter have both worked hard on their own for the successes they have achieved, while providing me with seven grandkids along the way. daughter now has four grandkids of her own.
all have been informed many times over that there is no pot of gold at the end of my rainbow.
