The Wuhan Virus Lockdown is a Colossal Blunder
American Thinker ^ | May 13, 2020 | Steve McCann

The Wuhan Virus pandemic is not the most significant crisis in our nation’s history. It isn’t even the greatest public health crisis in our history. But with the imposition of a near total national lockdown it is undoubtedly the greatest marginalization of personal liberty in American history.

Over the centuries, in virtually all societies, people known to be infected by various deadly diseases were confined and isolated in order to mitigate the spread and protect the rest of society. Never have we confined the entire population ostensibly for the same objective.

...

Using exponentially flawed models and projections, not based on any actual evidence or experience with the virus, the government at all levels so terrified the populace that they eagerly embraced the concept of home confinement and the catastrophic collapse of the economy. But one question that the powers-to-be never asked themselves at the time was: How do we get out of this? Now they find themselves trapped by their own decisions.

...

Rather than look at the devastated economy as well as the unbelievable and potential life-threatening distress of the vast bulk of the American people, these politicians are hiding behind government scientist/bureaucrats, believing that focus on just Wuhan Virus statistics will shield them from criticism. The national leadership of the Democrat party are also hiding behind the scientists to not only avoid criticism but to prolong the lockdown in the hope that the economy and nation is still in shambles on November 3, election day.

The reality is the decision to reopen the nation is a political decision, not a scientific one.

...

Focus on that segment of the population most at risk, without compulsory isolation or de facto imprisonment. And restore the civil liberties that have been wantonly eroded.

One important thing to (hopefully) come out of this is that the best way to get rid of liberals and Democrats is to strictly enforce them. And ones like Cuomo and Whitmer and Wolf and their policies are very good examples.

I was actually “on board” until the authorities began issuing contradictory instructions, publishing contradictory data, and ordered actions which couldn’t possibly accomplish the stated goals. I’ve seen all this before courtesy of a long-ish stint with the DoD years ago. Peel back the layers... observe who benefits. I’m done with this bullshit... COVID... whatever they want to call it... and so are a mass of other people. I have a good friend who theorizes that the legal wake of this will look like what we saw in the wake of Katrina... because of illegal weapons confiscations... except that what’s coming will be bigger and will go on longer. I guess we’ll find out.

Our approach to deal with this plague was highly influenced by the death and sickness due to the CCWV ( Chinese Communist Wuhan Virus) reports coming out of Italy.

Most Americans including this one were not aware that that the Italian socialist government had actually allowed the Chinese communists to purchase thus remove Italian ownership of a large segment of their fashion industry producers. Then replace the Italians working at those companies taken over by the Chinese and have them manned by thousands of Chinese nationals allowed to be brought in to work there.

When that CCWV breakout occured in Wuhan the politburo closedoff Wuhan but did not warn the Italian Socialist government or the Pope with whom the Chinese government had good relations with but certainly violated when the socialists should have been informed and allowed to deny those Chinese workers travel to and from China particularly for their New Year while this was occuring. Which Trump did with the exception of only allowing American citizens returning..

Those statistics being reported always indicated the casualties were aged Italians no focus was permitted on China or even if the victims were from China and the emphasis was on the speed of contagion. While doing so also ignored the direct connection those producers have with the Chinese Communist government which owns them.

Dr. Fauci telling Rand Paul yesterday that he is not the ultimate authority on COVID-19...after ten weeks of acting like the ultimate authority on COVID-19...should be the final straw.

I was on board for 2 or three weeks. Supposedly, the disease manifests itself in people at around the 2-week mark. Hunkering down for a couple of weeks would give enough time theoretically for people who had it but did not know it to show symptoms, and those people and their families could then be part of a longer quarantine.

Somewhere along the way, it morphed into "until there is a vaccine" and "until everybody is 100% safe". Now there is no end in sight.

Well I worked and shopped every damn day of the “lockdown.” And last night I went to a restaurant and ate in with a friend. The government can go blow.

Yes it was and it cannot never be allowed again! Trump got flatfooted on this one and gave in to the unconstitutional dictates of the evil medical ‘professionals’.

Yes, Trump won the war he had declared by getting ahead of the curve and supplying hospitals. Then mission creep came and it now became making sure no one dies from the virus.

It’s worse than a blunder. It is governments waving war against the citizenry.

Politically Trump had no choice. They would’ve pinned every death on him had he not headed the advice of the government drones and shutdown. We are fighting a war against America’s enemies within and without. Trump must be re-elected and this was the best of two very bad scenarios.
