News Flash: DOJ Targeted Other Conservatives

A friend emailed me recently to say that on May 1st, in his opening monologue, Tucker Carlson made the statement, ”You don’t want to live in a society where the most powerful agency in government imprisons people it doesn’t like. That is horrifying.”

Our friend lamented that he wishes there is someone who could “get Steve’s story to Tucker” because what happened to Flynn is so similar to what happened to Steve, my husband – former pit bull Republican congressman from Texas.

Numerous reports verify that Rep. Stockman was quite a fierce critic of and whistle-blower on the Obama administration.

As a result, he was pursued for four years by the Public Integrity Section of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the nonprofit division of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) – the very same corrupted team that went after Tea Party and other conservative nonprofit organizations around 2012. The DOD took their story before four grand juries before they were even able to obtain an indictment.

Am thinking it is wonderful that the hitlery crowd was not installed. The cattle cars would have been packed every day on their way to the re-education camps with many willfully take The Ride. Those of US unwilling to take The Ride would have been subjected to other torments imho.

I have long believed that the Obama Administration routinely used surveillance, spying and other measures on anyone who stood in their way and weaponized their spying when it became serious...

We know that Obama himself knew everything what about they did to General Flynn, there is no reason to believe General Flynn was the only time this happened.

The spying tools of the FBI, NSA and CIA are so vast and comprehensive the temptation to use them for political purposes is to great for anyone to really ignore.

We also know that Admiral Mike Rodgers notified Trump that Obama was spying on him, but we also learned that contractors hired by the FBI were routinely using the NSA database to gather information on American Citizens, we also know that mass unmasking of Americans was going on..

The question is who were they spying on and what was the reason...

Think back from when Obama was elected and all the bizarre things that happened.

John Roberts switched his vote on Obama Care at the last minute and confounded people like Scalia...

James Rosen of Fox News was one journalist who had his emails and phone calls tapped.

Maxine Waters blurted out that Obama was building a database that would ensure Democrat power for years.

Go even further back to when Obama was elected to the Senate, his opponent Jack Ryan had been thru a nasty divorce and the records were supposedly sealed, somehow they got release to the public causing Ryan to drop out of the race and Alan Keyes ran against him at the last minute with no chance of winning....

Obama has for a long time been running a criminal network to advance his agenda and when he was elected POTUS, the ability to gather dirt on his opponents was unlimited.

I thought Stockman’s only crime was to try to primary John Cornyn.

Yes, they railroaded Steve Stockman.

They also maliciously prosecuted Tom DeLay, and have malicioulsy prosecuted Attorney General Ken Paxton of Texas, and former Governor Perry.

We have to move away from the absolute immunity granted to prosecutors by the Supreme Court in 1983.

I believe there was likely unmasking and illegal, weaponized spying involved in the following story against a former Freeper:

I think it is a certainty that candidate Jeb Bush was also subject to the same sort of surveillance as candidate Donald Trump. Infact, they all were

Jeb was the front runner

SOROS has for a long time been running a criminal network to advance his agenda and when he had Obama elected POTUS, the ability to gather dirt on his opponents was unlimited.

I read the article. I also did some research on the crimes for which he was indicted and convicted. He set up a charity “Life Without Limits”. He had multiple bank accounts under the name “Stephen E Stockman dba Life Without Limits.” No appreciable disbursements were made for the charitable purposes. The funds were used for personal expenses and redirected to his campaign fund through third parties. He also filed federal tax returns which did not report the fund used for personal expenses. He and a campaign worker and a staffer were convicted on charges of wire fraud, mail fraud and money laundering. The prosecution presented over 140,000 documents as evidence. He was convicted of 23 of the 24 counts against him.

Stockman was apparently low on funds at the time of his trial so he used a court appointed attorney. Likely that did not serve him well in such a complex case.

I did not read the entire court proceedings but the behavior (fake charity, moving money through multiple bank accounts, failing to report income) isn’t typical of someone who isn’t trying to disguise activity.

My perception is Stockman was an outspoken conservative who lived a lifestyle beyond his means and yielded to temptation to use a fake charity to funnel funds to support his lifestyle. He also used the charity to allow business cronies to make large tax deductible contributions of funds which were later funneled to his campaign. Campaign contributions are not tax deductible.

Obama administration officials were likely scrutinizing the records of prominent Republicans and looking for evidence to prosecute them. It also isn’t hard to believe some Republican and some Democrat Congressmen are breaking the law every day. Regardless of the motivations of the prosecutors, if Stockman was breaking the law he deserved to be prosecuted, and if convicted sent to jail. So do the other dirty members of Congress.

It is a threat to good governance when DOJ is directing most of its efforts against politicians of the opposition party and when politicians of the party in power are automatically given a pass on illicit activity. The only recourse the citizens have for highly partisan and politicized prosecutors is the ballot box.

The best defense for GOP politicians against politicized Democrat prosecutors is to behave ethically and comply with the law. If the idea comes to you that you can set up a fake charity and funnel contributions to your campaign and personal expenses through it, if you are a moral and ethical person your 6th sense will be activated and you will immediately know it isn’t a proper thing to do.

Retribution by Obama officials keeps courageous congressman in prison

- - Sunday, August 4, 2019

Former Rep. Steve Stockman, Texas Republican, did more as an elected official than perhaps any other to alert the nation to the fact that Lois Lerner, the now-disgraced IRS official, was using her powerful position to target conservatives.

He boldly led the charge that eventually resulted in Ms. Lerner admitting her abuse of power, being held in contempt of Congress and being ousted her from her post.

But while Ms. Lerner now lives as a free woman, even though she and her crooked government buddies enacted revenge on Stockman, who now is languishing in a federal prison under a 10-year sentence.

[...]

The case against Steve Stockman? It involves the supposed tricking of nonprofit donors, based on four checks and two donors. It took twice as long as the Trump investigation, four grand juries, the pressuring of witnesses and millions of dollars to convict the former legislator.

Poignantly, neither of the donors complained or contacted the government; rather, the DOJ sought them out. The government’s own key FBI witness, Ben Wetmore, called it a “show trial — a real-life, Soviet-style prosecution.”

An FBI witness testified at Stockman’s trial that an agent was brought onto the FBI team to investigate the congressman the same month Stockman appeared on Fox News calling for Ms. Lerner’s arrest.

The government organizations and people on whom Stockman blew the whistle are the very ones who tried and secured his conviction — the FBI, DOJ and IRS.

Today in WA, Gov. Inslee is using emergency powers primarily to reward friends and punish foes, according to people who have been in the meetings.

We felt the wrath of Obama’s DHS for two years after we called in a conservative US Representative to help us obtain approval for a patent sale that was being deliberately held up because we were on the wrong side of the political blanket. It was scary, creepy and unrelenting.

“James Rosen of Fox News was one journalist who had his emails and phone calls tapped.”

Excellent recall of all these events, srmanuel, that show the utter corruption of JugEars and his Stasi cronies.

Also, I believe Sharyl Attkisson has reported that she would wake up in the middle of the night and realize that her computer would have been turned on remotely.

These things are really totalitarian government activities for which every perpetrator should serve long stretches in prison.
