I can see that being a real benefit to rioters and other criminals.
Not a bad deal for bank robbers and the like.

You’ll need to drive to Oakland, CA. to shop at my Ace Hardware store. Our county has the same face mask requirements in place. I won’t approach a customer about a mask ....especially if a Karen asks me to.

BTW, I grew up in De Beque.

"If they require that in Phoenix there will be people dropping of heat stroke. You can barely breathe in a mask when it’s onstage a hundred or so, if they make you wear one in June or July when temperature can be 110 to 120 people will die."

How would a little cloth mask on the face appreciably raise a human being's body temperature, especially if the outside air temperature is higher than the body temperature?

“Amen. wholeheartedly agree. won’t be going into Denver proper anytime soon”

going to be interesting in sw Denver near me. there are apartment complexes where even side of the street is Denver, odd is Jeffco. same with some intersections. Throw in city of Lakewood and you could be in violation without knowing it. PITA for open carry and even ccw folks have to be careful in Denver.

"I think requiring mask wearing is better than shutting everything down. Thoughts?"

I think people making trouble about wearing masks in grocery stores are wanting more of a disaster with the purpose of having someone other than President Trump elected. They're probably closet commies.

I've run in temperatures over a 100 degrees quite a few times in full gear at MOPP level four and didn't cry about it. Those little masks won't make anyone noticeably hotter. We're not dogs. We sweat. We drink more water.

If it was effective sure. The problem is what mask? A dust mask? A N95 mask? A painters mask? And none are proven effective. On top of that scientist like Dr. Judy Mikovits has said that wearing a mask will make you sick if infected as your just rebreathing the virus. She said that she would never wear a mask. She should know she worked with virus such as AIDS in labs for over 30 years.

It should be individual choice same as with vaccines. Not by decree.

Under what constitutional power is the federal government authorized to force you to close your business? Under what constitutional provision is the federal or state government executive allowed or authorized to force people against their will to wear something over their mouths and nose? Same question for how they can say you must “shelter in place” when you are not even the one who is sick?

“Can the government force everyone to get a flu shot?”

We are going to find out. That is going to be that hill right there.

Both are equally useless.

If it comes to have to wear a mask to avoid a court fight and fines, I’ll use cheesecloth.

Without making any pretense about being a constitutional scholar; please allow me to make the simple, indisputable, and obvious observation that the statutes I referenced previously are evidence that someone thought they were constitutional. To wit: the lawmakers who passed those statutes, and the Presidents (or Governors) who signed off on them. Also, I observe that these laws have not been ruled unconstitutional by any courts.

May I also make a simple prediction: there will be numerous lawsuits about the way those laws were carried out. Some of those suits will advance all the way to the Supreme Court -- the final arbiter of what's constitutional or not. No doubt, some of the more draconian measures will have been ruled unconstitutional. OTOH, most of those measures will be ruled constitutional. The latter is (IMHO) a safe bet because these laws have been around so long, that they've survived many challenges.

The key thing that you, and several other posters here, are missing is that, while these laws limit some of your freedoms, they aren't the only laws that do so. For instance, you have the right to bear arms (and, this Canadian envies your 2nd Amendment, given what our idiot PM has just pulled). You have the right to bear arms; however, you do not have the right to stroll down the street with a revolver, blithely playing Russian Roulette by pointing the gun at passersby. Given that carriers can be asymptomatic, everyone should assume that their (figurative) 'gun' is loaded. It's that simple. Your civil rights do not trump others' inherent right to life.

It’s not about your health!

“When the State tells you it’s safe to go to Home Depot to buy a sponge but dangerous to go and buy a flower, it’s not about your health.

When the State shuts down millions of private businesses but doesn’t lay off a single government employee, it’s not about your health.

When the State bans dentists because its unsafe, but deems an abortion visit is safe, it’s not about your health.

When the State prevents you from buying cucumber seeds because it’s dangerous, but allows personal lottery ticket sales, it’s not about your health.

When the State tells you it’s dangerous to go golf alone, fish alone or be in a motor boat alone, but the Governor can get his stage make-up done, and hair done for 5 TV appearances a week, it’s not about your health.

When the state puts you IN a jail cell for walking in a park with your child because it’s too dangerous but lets criminals OUT of jail cells for their health- It’s not about YOUR health!

When the state tells you it’s too dangerous to get treated by a doctor for chiropractic or physical therapy treatments yet deems a liquor store essential- It’s not about your health!

When the State lets you go to the grocery store or hardware store but is demanding mail-in voting, ITS NOT ABOUT YOUR HEALTH.

WAKE UP PEOPLE — If you think this is all about your health you’re mistaken! Please open your eyes! Stop being lead like blind sheep.”

Thank you so much for the pain. Wow I’m very sorry to hear this. Those poor bus drivers; even when there’s no one else in the bus!

Face masks fog glasses. How many deaths until they rethink this bit of silly.

Face masks outside are useless.

Face Masks are terror theater. Nothing else.

Bus drivers may find benefit from well fitted high filtration face masks. Mass transit is a definite spreader of this virus. But, it has to be balanced against safey and ability to see clearly.

Any other drivers.. nope. Asking for trouble. The utility of masks is very limited because frankly most people don’t wear them in a way that doesn’t keep them touching their faces. it sucks. But, some good ideas just aren’t practical.

-- Even though school vaccinations are supposed to be mandatory, there are plenty of ways for parents to avoid the requirement. --

Varies state by sate. Maine just clamped down on that. No more conscientious objector, MUST have doctor note.

-- The Constitution can't be made conditional on the basis of pandemics and the "public good." --

That's position the courts have taken is that the current actions are not afoul of the constitution . The constitution applies, and this is what you get.

We don't know the limitations. This is the first time in history that an entire country has been declared under a public health emergency for an indefinite duration.

Who decides is interestingly, unanswerable. That authority floats around as time progresses. In this fiasco, the authority began with bureaucrat doctors advising governors/POTUS. Legislatures are proving they are worthless by being absent. Courts are proving they prefer control freaks to freedom and liberty. The press likes the shutdown, so the people aren't getting much moral support.

As for compliant public, one of the issues or questions CDC posed a decade or so ago was they didn't know how the public would react to shut-down orders, "social distancing" is NOT a new term, CDC has been using it for a long time. Now they know.

We live in interesting times, per the Chinese curse.

Food for thought...reason leftist cities (I know, redundant, right?) Are enforcing facemask wearing...they’ll have their voters voting multiple times...once without mask, multiple times with the mask, and not being challenged to take it off for matching their ID.
