Your not the only one. I am 53 years old and your description fits me as well. Not one prospect and I don’t care anymore. I see it as a blessing because I have a house, car, decent job, freedom and my sanity.
I once read a comment on a ‘50s photo of a navy man in uniform embracing his young wife. It said “Those were the good old days, when men were brave, women were modest, and romance was alive.”
My parents-in-law were married 74 years when she passed away. She was on oxygen and very frail, but a week before she died, I observed her giving my Dad-in-law a flirtatious little wink. They had eloped when she was only 17 years old and they had nothing, but they were in love until the day she died.
You are right about marriage being cheapened by what the left likes to call women’s liberation. It didn’t liberate women, it just made them selfish.
I’m glad that when my husband and I were married in 1961 that we also had nothing, but we had nothing together.
The parents-in-law story is beautiful
So many wish they had that.
You guys sound exactly like feminists. LOL!!!
What you said about men goes for women too. = ImVho, that’s a MAJOR reason why American men (and especially former GIs like me) are “looking abroad” for a lady who wants a traditional marriage/family.
My lady is US-born (by about 3 weeks!) of 2 immigrants but after losing her parents in a traffic accident before her 2nd BD. She was raised by a Sicilian grandmother & “D” is very much a “foreigner” in the way that she sees marriage & family.
(We have an adopted son, who will be 1,YO on 21MAY20.)

Indeed
Lol
She was hot as is her daughter
Yep, thats a pretty good assessment.
You’re right
Since the decline started way before homosexual marriage it’s a very weak article
While I’m an advocate for marriage. I will say that American women or white women can be really bad people. There are some good ones but I’m not sure they make up the majority. Entitled describes them well.
And the men gladly pay.
While wife & kids at home.
It’s always the woman’s fault right? A man never lies or cheats or commits adultery or hits his wife.
The important take away here is to always blame the woman. Always. Blame. Women.
No wonder you’re alone & miserable.
Now go get a job.
Nah I’ll admit I cheated plenty of times :)
And almost all of the women were the better half of the relationship.
Some guys are just no good. what are ya gonna do?
buungiorno!!
Gay marriage had nothing to do with it.
Changing divorce laws, and their application by increasingly man-hostile family court judges, had everything to do with it.
All it takes is for a young man to look around and see guys subjected to divorce-rape to decide that marriage isn’t worth the risks these days.
And I speak as someone happily married for 35 years to a woman who makes an effort to keep me happy. Women like her are rare.
“But today, you need a bar, 50 bucks and a bartender who makes strong drinks to bring a girl home to your bed.”
Not even that, really. Just, “Hey, wanna hook up?” does the trick.
“Changing divorce laws, and their application by increasingly man-hostile family court judges, had everything to do with it.”
Yep. I’ve been married over 20 years but I totally agree the divorce laws and practices killed marriage.
true
I’m not sure I get the joke.
Feminism as it exists today is nothing but a hate movement.
It basically boils down to: “Take no responsibility for anything as long as there’s a man to blame.”
I’m a 64 year old woman who never married, by choice. The thought of marriage has always made me want to go screaming into the night. I think the Lord created marriage and it is a good thing — family is important and if you have kids, it is imperative. But marriage today is not what it was designed to be. And I have always said that men get the most raw deal.
