Marriages on decline? You can thank Joe marrying Joey

The marriage rate in the United States has dropped to its lowest point since someone began keeping records, and anyone who is not a man-hating feminist knows that is a bad sign for the future.

A new report from the National Center for Health Statistics shows marriages fell 6 percent from 2018 to reflect an average 6.5 unions per 1,000 people, the lowest number since the federal government began keeping records in 1867.

Approximately 20 years ago, the Netherlands was the first or one of the first nations to legalize gay marriage. Their hetero marriage rates dropped significantly in the following years.

One of the comments at the site said, “Marriage rates drop; blame the gays.” That’s not the whole story. The blame is with the entire liberal progressive package and those predominantly heterosexual legislators who betrayed children by adopting almost all of its demands.

Legalization and normalization of adult-child sex is the only barrier left; the obligation of society and even the rights of parents to protect children from sex abuse are hanging by a thread.

Well said TMN

Consider; the basic unit for a society is the family.

leaving religion out, the purpose is to have offspring.
Conservatives who don’t want big gov’t should acknowledge this.

American women have spoiled their ‘good thing’ with feminism

If you really think about the genesis of marriage breakdown, you have to suspect that the advent of women going to work in factories during WWII was a sea change. For many, it was the first time they had freedom from bearing one baby after another and being tied down for a lifetime to the lone task of motherhood. Childbirth, itself, resulted in death too much of the time back then. My Grandmother was a very healthy and fertile young woman who married at 16. She had 17 babies, the last one at the age of 49. It is no wonder that prosperity after the war caused parents to want their children to have what they didn’t have which was as much education as they could get for all their kids. A generation later, the world was full of Baby Boomer kids who were spoiled and feeling entitled. They hungrily embraced a world of academia which introduced sex, drugs and a feminist revolution, complete with birth control. In addition, adult women were now free to reject the previous state of affairs where married men could cheat but women risked pregnancy if they did. Religious morality broke down then, as well. Women went to work in droves and were in constant contact with men in the workplace. You all know the story..Family breakdown began and the government assisted by giving Mother’s welfare to have babies outside of wedlock. Divorce was now an easy option and women soon figured out that marrying a man with money could be a big payoff in the event of divorce. When those sexual mores became loose, so did others. Now, pretty much anything goes and the marriage certificate, on the face of it, has lost it’s value to our society. The family unit was no longer advantageous when it’s natural order went away. Unfortunately, the downside is greater than the upside is what many young people believe. However, one day, something is going to happen and, maybe, already is, where the natural order of humanity will be reset to what matches Mother nature, herself. In the end, it is physical strength which will count, if we are reduced to our basic needs..Food, clothing, shelter and physical protection. This virus is just a warning, in my opinion. I hope enough people are paying attention and will change some attitudes. This fork in the road may be our last chance to take a hard look at the values that hold us together for the journey. The “here today and gone tomorrow” promise simply does not work for the long haul.

“ Not even that, really. Just, “Hey, wanna hook up?” does the trick.”

There’s an app for that.

Queers do not marry. They enter into an economic contractual agreement.

The “I want it now” mentallity really accelerated with the USA economy through the decades. That and the availability of ‘credit’ has turned the general population into materialistic addicts. ‘Stuff’ = happiness. It’s an illusion most of the time.

The financial advisor Dave Ramsey has built a huge business on this basic problem: “You bought that? Oh, your income isn’t high enough. You shouldn’t have bought that. You need to sell it.”

The materialism issue is only made worse by allowing fantasyland a foothold in our thinking. Hollywood has glorified witchcraft. Harry Potter, even Field of Dreams (a man hearing voices, telling him to turn his cornfield into a baseball field? Men in baseball uniforms walking out of a cornfield to play a baseball game? I don’t care how well the story is written and acted; it’s absurd makebelieve). Of course writing makebelieve has made people wealthy for centuries. That’s too bad; but that’s what people want, so it sells.

Sports have become waaaay overrated. The “we gotta help Jimmy or Susie excel in order to get that college athletic scholarship”, attitude has done more harm than good.

The love, care, and teamwork of traditional marriage is God ordained. It’s success is proven over and over again, by those that hold it as sacred, and resist the temptation to corrupt it.

Rant off, for now. :)

But today, you need a bar, 50 bucks and a bartender who makes strong drinks to bring a girl home to your bed.

Kids have it so easy nowadays, LOL.

Neither of us planned on adopting a day-old son but “D” has proven to be a WONDERFUL MOTHER.
“D” certainly did not plan on going from a professional woman to a full-time mom/homemaker but she has taken to her “new profession” like a duck to water.= Moreover, our friends often say that she looks HAPPIER than they have ever seen her & that she looks like THE MADONNA when she is with him.
(About a month after we adopted our son, she looked up at me while feeding him & said, “I feel so BLESSED”. “Me too” & “You two look beautiful together”, I said.)

Note: “D” asked me if it was OK with me to name him “Nathan” & after doing some quick research, I told her than Nathan seems singularly appropriate, as Nathan means “Gift of God” - I picked “Paul” for his middle name because “Paul” or “Saul of Tarsus” is my favorite character in the New Testament.

FYI, we originally adopted him because his birth mother said that she would only give birth to him if she never had to see him & otherwise she would have an abortion.
Inasmuch as neither of us could bear the thought of his NEEDLESS death, we adopted him. -—— Some BLESSINGS are 100% surprises..

Yours, TMN78247

**And I speak as someone happily married for 35 years to a woman who makes an effort to keep me happy. Women like her are rare.**

Almost 42 yrs, and she has been an ace of a wife, mother, and grandmother. She fears and loves God. Everything after that just seems to fall into place.

I tell the young guys I work with, “ just find some woman that hates your guts, buy her a house, and give her half your paycheck for the next twenty years and save money on the lawyers”

“Or maybe turning Joe into Pajama Boy. There are a lot of women who don’t want to marry *that*.”

My nephew is very ambitious but he agrees. He said all his roommates do when they get home form work is light up a joint and play video games.

“I see it as a blessing because I have a house, car, decent job, freedom and my sanity.”

I have been happily married close to 25 years and most of my close male friends are happily married. You can tell the ones who are not.

I remember my single days. Lonely. Never want to go back.

No-fault divorce must be eliminated. Fault divorce needs to be brought back, and must have a high level of proof. Plenty of reasons for fault divorces, and for that to factor into the subsequent division of assets.

Prenups need to be able to be enforced and not tossed out. Right now prenups are virtually worthless and can be tossed out by a judge for any reason the judge can come up with.

People need to have proper counseling about marriage. They do not get proper counseling before going into marriage, not when more than 50% fail.

Well thought and stated, Asian Man. The lack of religious upbringing and lack of respect for God's commandments also helped destroy the institution of marriage. I so looked forward to sharing life with another follower of Christ and here I am, 58 never married because the "MeToo" thing is really the dead end of "It's All About Me". But I'm good.

It’s financial slavery for a guy who married a bad woman.

My daughter is not creating financial slavery for the man she married. She is a joy and treasure to him.

My two married sons are not financial slaves but very happy heads of households.

My husband is not my financial slave. I have been a huge help to him all his life.

But you have to marry well and sometimes even with the best effort you have hardship.

Don't just look at the marriage rate, look at the much longer term trend of the divorce rate.

"Gay marriage"(so called) would not have happened in the first place if marriage hadn't already been in serious decline.

The big difference being feminists seem to hate men. I don’t hate women at all. I love them as a group but I have seen a lot of bad marriages among family and friends and all conservative women I know in my age group are “happily married”.
