Americans are no longer putting a ring on it.
The US marriage rate fell to its lowest level on record in 2018, federal stats released Wednesday show.
New figures from the National Center for Health Statistics reveal the nationwide marriage rate fell 6 percent from 2017 to 2018, with 6.5 new unions formed for every 1,000 people.
The figure marks the lowest rate since the US government started tracking such data in 1867, Sally Curtin, the reports lead author and a statistician at the federal agency, told the Wall Street Journal.
Millennials are in peak marriage years, their 20s and 30s, and its still dropping, Curtin told the newspaper. This is historic.

Guys just want the milk without buying the cow. A lot of people destined for a lonely old age.
Kind of hard to conduct a Midnight Rendezvous when you have to maintain six feet separation.
Blame it on incels who don’t want to use the D for the P.
I'm thinking very few 22 year olds get married today. Most 22 year olds today are probably still living with their parents.
It’s low because couples are living together rather than marrying.
you mean like your family leaving you in a nursing home lonely
I honestly don’t understand how so many selfish people can have children and then be shipping them back and forth all the time.
Yeah, I know it happens; but there is no commitment from anyone these days it seems like.
The lack of marriage is simply an indicator of this process of decomposition.
What man would want to marry the man hating shrews out there now. Most can’t and won’t boil water if you gave them directions at the sink.
[Most cant and wont boil water if you gave them directions at the sink.]
Unfortunately, there is some truth to that one.
I had no idea that some people don’t bring their food to a boil. Sometimes I get blank stares when I ask “Do you know why they want you to bring your food to a boil?”
Certain folks just give me a blank stare.
They just want the sex without the sacramental graces.
Their loss.
It appears that the number of marriages mirrors church attendance. According to Gallop the percentage of Americans claiming to be religious was:
1998/2000 - 90%
2016/2000 - 77%
- those claiming no religion was:
1998/2000 - 8%
2016/2000 - 19%
It seems we have lost our way along the way!!
No grace from God.
I could write a book why this is a good thing for males.
I’m married by common law. We’ve been together for eleven years (come June), but we have financial reasons to not be married. I’d be forced into his health insurance, which is abysmal, and I would rather not get stuck on a plan that only pays 1% of bills. No joke. Last time he was in the ER for a work-related injury, he had to pay in installments.
Otherwise we’d have hit he courthouse by now.

Ugh.
from the article ...
“Theres no clear reason for the decline, Curtin said, “
Sure there is. Feminism and abortion minded women.
