Tyson Foods announced last week that it would shutter two pork processing plants, including its largest in the United States, and a beef facility to contain the spread of the virus.

And in a couple weeks, they clean the plant up, install safety dividers, the workers get better (99% of them), and they go back to work. I would say nothingburger, but it’s Tyson, so wal-crap pink slime “chicken” sandwich. LOL

Great, MORE crap for my lib friends to bug me with “Great trump Economy there, can’t get TP, flour, yeast, beans and now meat”.
Open this back-up and get TP on the shelves or quit pretending this is a first world country, slap some CEOs around if you have to Mr. Presidcent.

I’ve been hearing about this for a couple weeks, and Trump had better get out ahead of it. Empty shelves in grocery stores tend to encourage panic.

Yep.
Invoke Defense Production Act on food processors if necessary.

The article makes no mention about the percentage of meat plants that are closed.
Fox "News" does us no favors with this Reuters article.

Our 2 local grocers(1 large Texas chain, 1 small town chain) had meat shortages about 1 month ago when folks from Houston and San Antonio came through cleaning out meats prior to “rationing”. Our local farmers, ranchers, feed stores, and actual leaders out here began “processing” a few of the thousands of cows, chickens, hogs, and other farm products to resale direct to local residents only via feed stores and other outlets.
Tyson who?
