Why Joe Biden’s America loves a lockdown
The Spectator ^ | 24 Apr 2020 | Daniel McCarthy

It has highlighted the class divide that globalization produces within countries such as America as well. The highly educated professional classes can work from home, and their jobs are relatively secure; the service class, on the other hand—the waiters and cooks and hotel maids and retail clerks and others — are out of their jobs and shit out of luck. Not to worry: the professional class will write all of them checks for $1,200. Let them eat cake, you know?

In our nation’s capital region, DC and its suburbs, the divide is especially pronounced. Just before DC’s mayor and Virginia’s governor issued stay-at-home orders, practically all businesses had already shut down voluntarily. But I ventured out to the city one day and was surprised by what I saw: while the professionals had disappeared — the lobbyists and think-tankers and journalists and other non-essential workers — groundskeepers and maintenance staff were out in force, as many of them or even more than usual, tending to decorative greenery and the facades of the professionals’ buildings. I took the Metro, the DC subway, back home, and noticed that two things had changed. The trains were less crowded than normal but actually more crowded than they had been a week earlier: this was because the Metro system was running fewer trains, which logically enough meant that people who still had to go to work were packed onto the few that were still running. Those people who still had to go to work, or to use the Metro for other reasons, were not the white professional commuters, but mostly black and Hispanic service workers: maintenance men and others.

I suppose I’m part of the “professional class,” and I sure as hell don’t want to write anyone a $1,200 check.

Dems need to prevent the attainment of herd immunity before sept/oct. the best chance for a Dem win is if the crisis is still ongoing in a big way in the final stretch to election day.

“Not to worry: the professional class will write all of them checks for $1,200.”

Many in the professional class will not be getting that $1200 check.

1. Make Trump look bad.

2. The dream of the radical left has always been to collapse the economy and rebuild a brutal Stalinist police state. The Democrat party is now that radical left. Pure evil.

The author is on to something. Two things are extremely odd about the elites' reaction to this epidemic: (1) their extreme hostility to - and mockery of - any proposed treatment for the virus; and (2) their extreme hostility towards ending the shutdowns, even in areas that have been relatively spared by the virus.

You didn't need to be a body-language expert to see the joy in the faces of reporters talking about the informal VA study that dismissed the efficacy of HCQ as a treatment for the corona virus.

Lazy government workers and the leftist who make money off of government. They wouldn’t care if the government was shut down for two years because they are getting paid.

And in Joe Biden’s America they can keep him sequestered so that no one can notice his senile dementia.

The problem with the Left’s strategy is that once the civil society is collapsed all bets are off. You’re as likely to get a Pinochet as you are a Euro-socialist.

To me, the most important CV stat is deaths. It is difficult to tell whether new "cases" refers to those hospitalized, to those showing symptoms who test positive, or to anyone who tests positive regardless of symptoms or hospitalization.

But deaths are deaths, and yesterday - despite the highest daily total of new cases since this began - 32 states had fewer than 20 deaths, and of those, 25 had fewer than 10 deaths. These numbers have been pretty consistent for a week or two, despite a one-day spurt in some states every so often.

It seems to me that most counties in half of our states could go back to normal immediately, with only minor restrictions. Some of those states never did enforce a total lockdown in the first place. But the left demonizes anyone who wants to open up those states, as if they want pro-Trump states to suffer just because they are pro-Trump. (Although not all of the soft-hit states are necessarily pro-Trump, e.g., Oregon and Hawaii.)

The least you could do is point people towards it if you’d like to spread the word.
I’ll look it up but most won’t.

“Two things are extremely odd about the elites’ reaction to this epidemic: (1) their extreme hostility to - and mockery of - any proposed treatment for the virus; “

Keeping people from receiving life saving treatments of HQC or vitamin c which has a well documented over 50 year track record of success without side effects is CRIMINAL. I just saw where the HHS and FBI raided a clinic in Mich. that was offering IV vitamin c! For God’s sake this is a proven effective therapy that even the Chinese are using with great success.

This CRIMINAL control of our medical system has to end and it should start with the indictment of Dr. Fauci for crimes against humanity. Specifically for his well documented role in the silencing of Dr. Judy Mikovits and the burying of her data that the vaccines and blood supply were/are contaminated with a retrovirus that is “associated” with being the causative agent of all manner of human illness.

Keeping this information from the public is criminal and has led to countless people suffering from debilitating illness and deaths.

And he has the gall to stand up there day after day and and dismiss a treatment that is effective while he advocates for MORE vaccines.

Dr. Fauci, if your vaccines are so damn safe why was in necessary to shield the makes from all liability and even after that a secret “Vaccine Court” was set up to litigate the multitudes of claims. Which BTW have paid out some $4 BILLION!

If you have or have a loved one with anything from autism, prostate cancer lymphomas, fibromyalgia, CFS, and auto-immune disease or a number of other illness you can look at Dr. Fauci and wonder WHY he choose to keep what was causing it a secret.

He should be asked that question under oath.

That’s it.

The lockdown is racist. Women and minorities are hit hardest and that’s what Democrats want.
