Walt Disney will stop paying more than 100,000 employees from this week as it struggles with coronavirus closures.

The world's biggest entertainment group operates theme parks and hotels in the US, Europe and Asia.

Stopping pay for almost half of its workforce will save Disney up to $500m (£400m) a month, according to the Financial Times.

Disney made operating income of $1.4bn for its parks, experiences and products in the last three months of 2019.

The company said it will provide full healthcare benefits for staff placed on unpaid leave and urged its US employees to apply for government benefits through the $2tn coronavirus stimulus package.

The big irony here is that they (the entertainment industry ) are being forced down by the politicians they support so dearly. It’s just bizarre. I am anticipating the news media to eventually call Trump exaggerating and the threat of the virus being less to help their Hollywood owners, who own the news outlets.

I'll bet they're still paying two groups, no, make that three, groups of people.

1) Executives
2) C-suite lawyers
3) H1-Bs.

Agreed. They will let the H1Bs go last, if at all.

I work with Disney here in L.A. Most of them are fags or fag lovers.

After years my kids convinced my wife we needed annual passes so we could go to Disneyland with them. Prior to that we were in that group that went like once every 35 years whether we needed to or not. And we live eight miles away. Every single time we go we see at least one transvestite running around. It is really shameful.

Its been awhile but South Park covered them pretty well in the episode “The Ring” about 13 years ago, and then this year in season 23, “Band in China”.

The whole thing will come to a head. Will the left truly burn it all down to get Trump? Within a month, nothing will be left and most never to return which includes so much leftist business. Will the left go for the “kill” and take down their own? I am certain that the Obama,Clinton,Soros Global Cabal give assurances.

Honestly the workers are better off being furloughed even in stingy Florida. Let’s say Disney paid 15 dollars an hour. You’d get 600 dollars a week. Now with unemployment you’d get 600 from enhanced unemployment and 275 from the state......I was shocked to see that was what they provided to the unemployed. Thank God I never had to live on that.

I would rather bail out Disney then New York City. It makes me sick how much they want from the feds. Just for the subway they want 9 billion. That pisses me off. They got 3.5 already from first round. Why the entire country has to pay for a subway in a city is beyond me.

I live seven miles from Disneyland and haven't visited there since 1969 (my first visit was in 1956). Doesn't sound like I've missed much.
