A Florida police chief was placed on paid leave for allegedly suggesting that a sheriff’s deputy died from the coronavirus because he was gay

Uh-huh. So. Did they dutifully investigate to find out if the statement was true? Maybe the chief has identified a vulnerable population that needs outreach and specific treatment, analogous to the elderly.

Bureaucrats are so afraid of backlash from the comment that they don't care about helping that population group. Someone should organize a group of gays in support of the police chief.

Back when AIDS was starting, anyone suggesting they close the bathhouses would have been labelled “homophobic”.

I recall a couple weeks ago a gay rights group demanding heightened attention to the LBGT crowd because the group said they were particularly vulnerable to the virus.

Is he a doctor? Shut his big mouth and just say one of our own died of coronavirus and that’s it. Problem with everyone is they decide it’s cool to add commentary and prognosis they are not sure of.
