Just saw where a drugged strong male took out his intubation tube after recovering somewhat with tocilizumab.
Texas, of course.
I am assured by my physician daughter that while there are many uses for invasive ventilators, if any patient, of any age needs one for ARDS, whether or not caused by the ChiCom bio-weapon, the prognosis is never good.
It’s truely a last resort.
So the reason we had to Prolong the Spread (aka Flatten the Curve) was to save lives by not overwhelming the hospitals which were constrained by ventilator capacity. Now that has proven to be false can we get back Shorten the Spread?
I love Rush....but there is a lot of marginal and bad info in that piece.......
In an effort to maintain quality info here on FR, would you mind saying which info is marginal and/or bad?
If you are put on a ventilator for any reason, the odds that you are going to walk out of the hospital are slim at best. The fact is that these ventilators are only marginally effective.
It is looking like the problem with Covid19 is not that the lungs arent working, but that the blood becomes incapable of carrying oxygen. All the ventilators in the world cant fix that.
Well....I very much disagree...I happen to be a RRT...have been for many, many years.
hyperbaric chamber?
I just read the Army shut down the field hospital they built in the Seattle sports complex. After 9 days. Never used.

Hemolung vs. Ventilator
There are people out there...that run in the high 80's...That is their norm.
I could try to explain the OxyHemoglobin Disassociation Curve to you... but it won't make sense to you.
I'm RRT...I do not get worried until someone's Pulse Ox reading is under 80....That's when the curve falls off precipitously.
Do you not agree that if the problem is that the blood cant carry oxygen that all the ventilators in the world arent going to help? You need to treat the blood not the lungs.
Right now most Covid patients who are put on a ventilator die anyway. Or do you have different information?
If you are put on a ventilator for any reason, the odds that you are going to walk out of the hospital are slim at best.
THAT is what I replied to...and your statement was very wrong.
Not going to even read it....sacbee is BS number one...and I know what I’m talking about.
What percentage of patients with severe respiratory distress actually survive being put on ventilators?
What percentage of Covid19 patients who are put on ventilators survive?
Here is what YOU said.... If you are put on a ventilator for any reason, the odds that you are going to walk out of the hospital are slim at best.
THAT is what I replied to...and your statement was very wrong. Do you not understand?
A 50/50 chance of survival is pretty slim in my book.
I'm done....
