A lawyer for retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said her client was prepared to "audit" the U.S. intelligence community as White House national security adviser.
And that, according to former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell, is partly why federal agents "set up" Flynn.
Flynn, 61, is fighting to dismiss the government's case against him. He pleaded guilty in December 2017 for lying to investigators about his conversations with Russian diplomat Sergey Kislyak on sanctions on Russia and a United Nations resolution on Israel, but in January, he told the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., that he was "innocent of this crime."
Powell, who took over Flynn's defense last summer, told the Vicki McKenna Show on 1310 WIBA Madison on Tuesday that her client was "totally set up" because he threatened to expose wrongdoing by top intelligence officials in the Obama administration.
"He was going to audit the intel agencies because he knew about the billions Brennan and company were running off books," Powell said, referring to former CIA Director John Brennan.
Powell offered no evidence during the interview to support the claim, but her comments echo the findings of investigative journalist Lee Smith, the author of The Plot Against the President.

This is probably one of the reasons why Lindsey Graham and the GOP-e has refused to push the investigation.
The other is the 5 GOP-e Senators who were involved in the FISA spying of Trump
Lessons learned from this:
1) Law enforcement is allowed to lie to you
2) You are not allowed to lie to law enforcement
3) Always have a lawyer present when talking to law enforcement
4) Always video record any conversations with law enforcement.

Even if you are innocent, say nothing.
Even if you want to be helpful, say NOTHING.

His guilty plea is always mentioned. Unmentioned is the fact that they not only bankrupted the man but, then threatened to go after his son as well. It was at this point he agreed to the plea. He fell on his sword to protect his son from malicious prosecution. This is almost never mentioned.

VERY important. And take your copy of the video with you when you leave the room. They will tell you that they’ll mail the copy to you, but do not agree to this. Take your copy.
Also, if they ask you to hand them any of your documents so they can “run down the hall to the copy machine and make a copy”, you will not get it back. Tell them that you’ll make the copy and give it to them.

Don’t talk to them at all, even with an attorney.
This is nothing short of coercion by the nations highest law enforcement agency.
We should expect better behavior by the respective agencies of FBI, and the intelligence community.
It demonstrates the extent that illegal behavior to hide their misdeeds and illegal activities,
thus,irreparably harming the reputation of the agency.
Nobody was protecting the watchman, who detected and found their illegal operations,
and then they "set him up", resulting in bankruptcy and pleading to an administrative criminal charge.
Who was it that said :" Show me the man, and then I'll find the crime " ?

Flynn should own the FBI when this is done.
LTG Flynn was disliked within the Intelligence Community because he knew where are the bodies were buried and that he had made it clear that he would clean up the swamp once he was in the Trump Administration. They got to him first and destroyed him. He will eventually be pardoned, but what happened has served as an example to others to keep them silent.
IMHO, Flynn and Trump gave up too easily. Flynn should have never stepped down. Of course, Flynn should have never talked to the FBI, that doesn’t make any sense. Did he think he could outsmart the FBI? Doesn’t matter, the FBI has the force of the GOV. on their side.
Trump botched the whole thing from the very beginning. He had no idea what he was up against.
