Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said it’s unknown how long flights from other countries will continue operating, so Americans abroad who wish to return should do so immediately.
Pompeo warned that the window to bring Americans home from abroad could be closing.
Pompeo said more than 26,000 U.S. citizens from more than 50 countries have been repatriated back to the U.S.
The top diplomat said the repatriation task force remains committed to bringing all Americans home.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is urging Americans who are still abroad and wish to return to the United States to do so “immediately,” as commercial and government-chartered flights could soon stop due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Americans who wish to return home from abroad should do so immediately and make arrangements to accomplish that,” Pompeo said during a Tuesday briefing.
Pompeo said his repatriation task force is committed to bringing all U.S. citizens home, but cautioned that the window to do so is becoming more narrow.
“We do not know how long the commercial flights in your countries may continue to operate,” he said. “We can’t guarantee the U.S. government’s ability to arrange charter flights indefinitely where commercial options no longer exist.”

Question: why are people out of the country anyway? I thought they were all told to return a few weeks ago.
The USA is going full Noah’s Ark. Everyone back into safety because the world is going to get very messy is what it looks like.
The cartels are not just at our southern border, either AND IMO, that whole human trafficking thing is going to blow up. Probably preaching to the choir here: the two are deeply connected. The silent war is not just against the virus.

I get the same feeling. This month of staying home I wager is not just about the virus. Maybe all this stoppage of U.S. businesses revealed something more sinister.
I had this dream a few years ago: many of our elected officials in Congress (mostly on the Left) were being directly paid by the cartels. Just a dream.

My niece is in Mexico first time pregnant with twins and having issues and I’ve offered her and her family of two to come to Tucson and stay with me. She probably won’t but the offer is out there. She is two hours from any hospital. I hope she makes the right choice. She says people in the tiny town she’s in say all you have to do is gargle and the president of the country told the people only rich people get the virus because they can afford to fly outside the country.
